The featured songwriter is Matraca Berg, born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.

The featured archive album is 'Album' by Shelagh McDonald, the first of two albums recorded by the Scottish folksinger at the beginning of the 1970s, both excellent though they didn’t achieve much commercial success at the time, and have become overshadowed by the strange story of her disappearance - and reappearance over 40 years later.

Back to normal this week: Sunday evening at 9pm and Monday at 10pm. The featured album is 'Labor Day' by Si Kahn, Activist, Organizer & Folk Singer/Songwriter, along with George Mann and a cast of friends, including Billy Bragg, Kathy Mattea, Peggy Seeger, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer. The album marks Si’s 80th birthday, and the 50th anniversary of his first album, and is a collection of songs paying tribute to hardworking people everywhere.

This week we will be taking a closer listen to the music and songwriting talents of the San Diego-born folk singer, songwriter and painter, John Stewart; a well-known member of The Kingston Trio, (following the departure of Dave Guard) and then a successful solo artist.

This week's Featured Archive Album is 'Mermaid Avenue' by Billy Bragg & Wilco. Mermaid Avenue is a 1998 album of, previously unreleased, Woody Guthrie lyrics as performed by UK singer-songwriter and activist Billy Bragg along with US alt-rock band, Wilco. The project was guided to fruition by Woody’s daughter, Nora Guthrie. The album title comes from the Guthrie song ‘Mermaid’s Avenue’ which was likely inspired by the street in Coney Island, New York, of the same name, on which Woody Guthrie lived.

Back this Sunday night with our week's Featured Album, 'Hydra' by Nuala Kennedy & Eamon O'Leary. Featured Archive Album for this week is 'Tusk' by Fleetwood Mac. Released 45 years ago this year, 'Tusk' is the 12th studio album from the UK-US rock band, Fleetwood Mac.
