Security Scotland Ltd were delighted to support our client Ronald McDonald House Glasgow hosting their Annual Summer Garden PartyđĽł
They raised an impressive ÂŁ1,900 for the house and even managed to celebrate in the sunshineđ
Ronald McDonald House Glasgow gives families a place to stay while their seriously ill child is in hospital. Children come from all over Scotland and further afield to receive treatment at the Royal Hospital for Children. Many need emergency treatment and can end up very far from home for weeks, months or even years at a time.
They help keep families together by providing free, high quality accommodation, only a few minutes walk from the hospital.
Keep up the great work Ronald McDonald House, we are proud to be a fundraising partner of such a fantastic facility, and Security Scotland Limited will continue to support where we canâ¤!
Today we celebrate International Security Officerâs Day!
The date of the 24 July is a reminder of the important work security officers do to protect people and property, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Celebrating International Security Officerâs Day is simple as an individual, you only ned to acknowledge any security officer you see on the day. Simply smile at that person and say thank youđ.
Congratulations to our June Employee of the Month, Ms Stacey ArcherđĽł
Stacey joined Security Scotland Ltd in 2016 as a Safety Steward, and through her commitment and willingness to learn, quickly became SIA Licensed before progressing to play a pivotal part with our Supervision Team.
Stacey is an ever-present member of our Events Supervision Team at football stadiums throughout the season and a key member of the team during the summer at music & golf events.
Stacey is very well respected by her colleagues and always leaves a lasting impression on clients and stake holders wherever she is deployed.
đŁOur Operations Director, Chris Callaghan commented âthis is a very fitting award, Stacey is a character once you have met, you never forget. Sheâs worked with the company for just under 8 years and her work ethic, time keeping, attendance and commitment has never once been called into question. She was recently part of very large stadium tour throughout the UK, as part of the security accreditation team - working long days and moving from city to city, and the feedback was excellent. This is a very well-deserved accolade Stacey â well done.â

At the TRNSMT Music Festival in Glasgow last weekend, our Managing Director met up with Scotlandâs Security Industry Authority Investigations Team.
The SIA Team carried out licence validity checks and chatted with frontline staff regarding their various roles & duties.

Well Done to everyone involved!
Congratulations to our May Employee of the Month, Miss Ayomide Amosđ.
Ayomide joined Security Scotland back in September 2023 as a safety steward, and through her work ethic, welcoming attitude and dedication she was promptly enrolled onto our SIA Door Supervisor Course, which she passed with flying colours.
Ayomide soon developed into a key staff member after obtaining her SIA Licence, she is such a refreshing smiley individual to have on our team!
This award is not only to recognise Ayomideâs continuous commitment to Security Scotland, but more so to highlight our appreciation for the role performed at the recent corporate DIOR event, during build, event and break schedules and feedback received:
âAyomide consistently delivered fantastic service in her role at Gate B, always providing a smiling welcome to all, despite challenging weather conditions and long days. Her role was demanding as she was required to check in all staff, via an iPad, from every contractor arriving onsite as well as support traffic management with vehicle movement on and off site, I have had some lovely feedback regarding Ayomide from partner agencies including Crexcell and the cleaning contractors and most importantly, the client, DIOR themselves. They have commented on her smiling welcome and effective gate managementâ
Fabulous Service Ayomide keep up the good workđ,
We are all very proud of you!

is a policing tactic that aims to disrupt a range of criminal activity, including terrorism, while providing a reassuring presence for the public. Key to the success of Project Servator is the support of security partners like ourselves, businesses and the general public to be extra eyes and ears for the Police, reporting anything that doesnât seem right, to help make it even harder for criminals to succeed.
The campaign aims to support operational policing in helping to build a network of vigilance and encourage the reporting of suspicious or unusual activity.

Another busy and diverse weekend for our Award-Winning Event Security Division.
50 of our friendly, professional SIA Licensed Security hosts spent 4 days at the world-famous Royal Highland Show within the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh, looking after a number of key areas that included the prestigious Members Pavilion, Ingliston House, Sponsors Hospitality Areas and the Light Horse areađ´.

Some 2,500 competitors from across the UK made the event, bringing about 6,000 livestock to the show.
David Tennant, Head of Show for RHASS said: âThis year we have seen the show return in all its glory, and it has been a true delight to see generations from across the agricultural community come together to celebrate their great achievements, learnings, stories and make new memories, just as it has been to see visitors and families enjoy all that the Show has to offer.
âIâd like to thank everyone for playing their part, from our members, exhibitors and competitors to our staff and members of the public, for helping to make the 2024 Royal Highland Show a truly unforgettable event!â

He is well respected by all staff and clients wherever he is deployed. He consistently follows all policies and procedures, conducts reports and makes him self available for any additional requests.
đŁMark Thorburn, Director Commented: âFarshad has become a great member of the team at Safedem, always in full uniform, courteous and helpful with all the staff at the sites, and is always keen to pick up more shifts, and is a worthy winner of the Employee of the Month award.â
Well Done and Keep up the good work Farshadđ.
All at Security Scotland are deeply saddened by the recent death of our Group Chairman Eddie Tobinđ.
Eddie was a well-known face within the Scottish entertainment & late-night industry.
In his early entertainment days, Eddie - who signed Billy Connolly, managed The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, and a host of Celtic and Rangers players. He set Midge Ure on the road to stardom and wrote a book about the golden era of Scotland's dance hall circuit titled âAre Ye Dancinâ.
Eddie then became a massive part of the late-night economy in Scotland, a true pioneer of the industry working with premier entertainment operators, Stakis, Scottish & Newcastle and Carnegies Leisure.
Eddie stayed within the night-economy moving to the security sector as Managing Director of UpFront Security, and assisted driving forward change in the security industry in Scotland.
In 2006 he branched out and started his own facilities company called Group Scotland which was split into 2 divisions â Security Scotland and Cleaning Scotland, which he continued to be the driving force behind.
James Glackin, Managing Director commented âI have had the upmost pleasure of knowing Eddie for over 30 years. Alongside Mark, Eddie, and the rest of our board of Directors, we have built Security Scotland to what it is today. Losing Eddie is not only a massive loss to our Company, but the security industry in general. Eddie Tobin will remain an âirreplaceable personal void in my lifeâ. The term father figure doesnât do justice to the relationship we had, alongside the guidance and direction he was always there to offer advice on a personal level as well as in business. We will continue what you started Eddie, and as a rule of your ethos in life, we will always have a laugh along the way doing it, you will always be missed.â
Mark Thorburn, Director commented âsince forming Security Scotland with Eddie & James Glackin in 2006, there was never a dull day with Eddie in the office, his stories were enthralling, he was a great mentor and a true friend to me in the office, with my name being Mark James Edward Thorburn it was maybe destiny for us all to be together, I will really miss him and his chats and his stories and poetic one liners âshe was only a bird in a gilded cageâ was a favourite song, I had to look it up to see the full lyrics! which I now know. Thanks for everything Eddie you will be really missed, love Mark.â
Chris Callaghan, Operations Director commented âIâve known Eddie for over 20 years dating back to my nightclub management days and we always kept in touch. I was then fortunate enough to join Security Scotland in 2016 and work very closely with Eddie and our fellow directors and there was never a dull moment. Iâm pretty sure plenty will testify, once met never forgotten, what a truly infectious character he was, you never heard the same story twice, he will be sorely missed both as a colleague and friend. Rest in peace Eddie.
Our thoughts and condolences are with Elspeth, Chris, Claire, and families during this sad time.

Happy Easter Sunday Everyone!
This week saw Security Scotland audited by the SSAIB , our UKAS accredited awarding body for various leading industry accreditations that we are annually audited on. Schemes that include the SIA ACS (Approved Contractor Scheme) which we have been involved in for the last 15 years, ISO 9001 and the 119 Codes of Practice in Security.
We are proud to announce that we continued to increase our year on year score from our 2023 audit, placing us securely within the Top 5 % of all ACS accredited suppliers in the UK for the first time.
We are delighted with the outcome of the audit, and to be in the company of only 33 other companies out of just under 800 ACS companies registered throughout the UK, to achieve such a prestigious score.
The SIA - Approved Contractor Scheme provides a recognised hallmark of quality within the private security industry.
It assesses approved contractors against 78 different areas of their business covering topics as diverse as staff training, financial management and the companyâs health and safety policies.
The pass mark for each indicator is the required achievement level, so a positive score (like +1) shows that the company is consistently going above and beyond the required level, so to surpass the 127 points threshold, to gain top 5%, represents the consistent hard work from everyone involved at the company.
As a leading security and crowd management company, Security Scotland Ltd has SIA ACS accreditation for Security Guarding and Door Supervision and we specialise in:
⢠Retail Security
⢠Security Guarding
⢠Concierge / Security Hosts
⢠Licensed Trade
⢠Outdoor Events
⢠Football Stadiums
