Professor Robert Elliott is giving this year’s Mary Kilborn Lecture, marking their retirement as Professor of Counselling at the University of Strathclyde. This free lecture will take place on Thursday 12 May (6.30pm British Summer Time) and will be hybrid for the first time.

Engage: Event This event brings together therapists and students from the psychotherapy and wider therapeutic community. The event will present the retiral lecture of Professor Robert Elliott, a leading figure from the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy, which focuses on the core learning from his life.....
At the March meeting of the Scottish SPR, Robert Elliott and Susan Stephen presented the results of the Personal Questionnaire Classification study, a group project involving students working in the Strathclyde Counselling & Psychotherapy Research Clinic. Robert and Susan are pictured here with Elizabeth Riddell, one of the team; other members of the team (Lloyd Cheng, Katie Miller-Cole and Vicky Hagman) are pictured in the background photograph.
At the February meeting of the Scottish SPR, Catherine Cowie presented a comparison of the findings of the 2006 and 2015 surveys of the Person-Centred Approach in Scotland.
Dr Zoe Chouliara of Edinburgh Napier University presented her research (Interpersonal Trust: A catalyst for physical and psychological wellbeing?) at the January meeting of the Scottish SPR.
Caren Christie presented her MSc research study on Foundational Factors Enabling Moments of Relational Depth at the December meeting of the Scottish SPR.
The time of Scottish SPR meetings has changed: we are now meeting at the earlier time of 6 - 7pm, usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month.
We meet at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow city centre: Room LT508, Livingstone Tower, George Street.
Come along if you are interested in learning about new counselling and psychotherapy research being conducted by practitioner-researchers based or studying in Scotland.
Future meeting dates in 2016-17: 15th December 2016, 19th January 2017, 16th February 2017, 16th March 2017, 20th April, 25th May 2017, 15th June 2017.
At the Scottish SPR meeting in November 2016, Thalia Nicolaou presented results from her PhD study of "The personal presenting meaning of physical and psychological symptoms: Their function and implication for therapy".
In October 2016 the Scottish SPR speaker was Rhonda Gillespie who presented the results of her MSc investigation: Measuring the usefulness of photographic metaphor in brief PCE therapy.
At the Scottish SPR meeting in September 2016, Lisa McGilvray presented the results of her MSc study into "Clients' expectations of a forthcoming counselling session analysed by gender, age, previous experience of counselling & method of referral".

Please let us know whether you think should continue holding them in the Graham Hills Building, in the Glasgow city centre, as we have been doing, or if we should move them to the Jordanhill campus of the University of Strathclyde.
