Rough Cut Comics

Over the years, Rough Cut Comics' titles have been sought out by art directors for appearance in film and TV ... notably in Channel Four's cult series UTOPIA and the BBC Scotland thriller GUILT.

Here's our super cool credit in the closing titles of the biographical thriller TETRIS ... which featured our FREEDOM COLLECTIVE title.

This absolute collector's edition of THE SURGEON - translated into German by Berlin-based Weissblech Comics - is back on sale again. Der Chirbug was an absolute horror-hit when they released it originally back in 2007 ... and we reckon their design and presentation was absolutely in the tradition of Lucio Fulci ...

This collectable 72-page B&W volume - which introduces readers to the gruesome exploits of the titular time-travelling serial killer -- has an introduction from acclaimed horror writer Ramsey Campbell and a cover by renowned 2000AD artist Alex Ronald.

The original comic-book series series was Rough Cut Comics' first title.

It was so good to be part of this brilliant cult conspiracy TV thriller ...

Two of the fatalities in the scene have been reading Rough Cut Comics' graphic novels before their demise (the comic-book store employee sifting through ROSE BLACK: BOOK ONE and the little boy at the end reading THE SURGEON).

Also, at the ground-level pan of Arby's sidekick Lee walking in to the store, you see posters for ROSE BLACK: DEMON SEED and FREEDOM COLLECTIVE: STATE FANTASY on the wall.

We also contributed to the design of the UTOPIA graphic novel in the story.

It's always good to reminisce on Rough Cut Comics' impact in popular media like TV and film.

Here's a character in the first season of the cult BBC drama series collecting/displaying artwork from ROSE BLACK: BOOK ONE.

Remember, this book also had a "starring' role in the Channel 4 conspiracy drama UTOPIA's first episode's first scene.
