Here is Briony, one of the amazing librarians at Mearns Library.

We are working with East Renfrewshire council to collect kids clothing. Bins are located in 5 of their libraries including Mearns, Giffnock, Eaglesham, Busby and Clarkston. So if you live close by, then you can drop off clothing and footwear for kids from age 4 up to 18 including adult sizes teenagers wear.

We have been busy picking up from them over the last few weeks, there has been an amazing response from library users. So, this is encouraging not only for the importance of local solutions and convenience but also the importance of libraries to communities too.

These library locations are part of our which needs many locations across the Glasgow region to capture clothing which can be used for local social good and reduce our impact on the planet.

This donation was collected from St Paul's high school in Pollok, Glasgow last week. Within a fortnight of having a bin they have managed to gather all these donations.

Pupils, parents/carers and staff have brought in their unwanted wardrobe items for us to reuse for social and environmental good.

We were amazed and stunned by how much they had already gathered and really wanted to share their efforts and also our huge thanks. What a brilliant start to their donation campaign, raising awareness within the community of reuse but also

It doesn't look much when it arrives in large black bags, but what lies within is amazing fashion, school uniform, trainers and shoes which can be reused again and again.

We have distributed nearlly all 40 bins around Glasgow, mainly into schools and places of work to increase the opportunities for people to reuse with us, to help local families.

We have just ordered another 25 bins - would you like to be part of our clothign system for a city? Please dm me and we will get one dropped off.

Following a really successful Fair Fashion Festival in March 2024, we are planning our next event for September 2024.

We know many other wonderful sustainable fashion organisations, movements and businesses and are looking to expand the Festival to be bigger and better than last time by involving you and many others.

Time flies by, so we are keen to understand who wants to be a part of it.

The deadline is 14th June, and from then we can start to properly engage and plan for the Festival.

At the stage, we are thinking a launch weekend of events, pop ups and workshops, a range of events during the month of September and then a celebration of all sustainable fashion at the end of the month; a wrap up party. 🎉
