This September there are a whole host of great events taking place in the area!
Where better to meet up before or debrief after than with us at The Laurieston?
A stacked lineup of gigs, comedy and a daytime club event for the over 30s at the O2 Academy
The Sonica Festival will be a whole 10 days of exciting events showcasing the best of talent in visual arts and music at the nearby Tramway
The Patricia Fleming Gallery in The Gorbals will be host to a beautiful art exhibition that gets to the roots of the materials that make for great art
And on the telly in the pub we'll be showing the rest of the Paralympics - including their closing ceremony - and will also be showing the World Series Darts Finals along with the St Leger Festival horse racing event

Lovely day for it at The Laurieston as we open up our brand new beer garden. Come on down for an ice cold pint in the sunshine 🌞🍺
Thank you to author and chef (and TV star!) Julie Lin of Ga Ga Kitchen + Bar for picking us as her favourite pub in The Glasgow Wrap's "Glasgow Guide"! It's great to be named alongside some of the city's best bars, restaurants and cafes.

We are lucky enough to have inspired some great artists over the years whose work decorates our walls. From the (in)famous Cherry Picker to the portrait of James and John, The Laurieston wouldn't be the same without the many contributions from local creatives.
We are often asked if any of the artwork is available to buy, and so to help us celebrate this vibrant community of local artists, we have compiled a list of links to their websites for you to go and explore.
Please consider supporting them by making a purchase or following their social media accounts, and if you are aware of any artists we have missed out please get in touch.

If you've gotten to know Joe over the years and have a good story to share about him please help by submitting a nomination for Joe!

Joseph
James and John: It's time for us to take a bow, but we're pleased to see a Clancy staying to lead at The Laurieston.
We would like to thank all the customers and staff who have come through the door over the past 42 years, with special mention to Anne and Catriona who are also retiring at this stage.
We are also pleased to announce that John's son Joseph will remain a familiar face for customers at the Laurieston, leading the next generation at the bar while carrying on its traditions.
We hope that you will continue to enjoy the Laurieston Bar for many more years to come, and we know you will still receive the same warm welcome as you always have.
Cheers to you all and very best wishes.

I’m happy to have this portrait of John Clancy of the Laurieston Bar in Glasgow chosen as one of the winning images in this year’s Portrait of Britain awards. It’ll be in the book and the exhibition around the UK for the next month. Thanks to BJP and all involved in it - and mostly to John for being very hospitable and portraitable!
