Trongate 103
Welcome to Trongate 103 - A centre for the arts and creativity in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City.
Trongate 103 is a centre for the arts and creativity based in Glasgow's merchant city. There are public exhibition galleries, workshops and production facilities, kinetic performances, artist studio spaces and a Russian cafe/ restaurant. Trongate 103 is free to enter but some performances may charge.
Exhibition in Gallery 103 this month is 'Through My Eyes - My Christmas': a collaboration between photographer Iain McLean and Simon Community Scotland which seeks to document the life of people experiencing homelessness during the festive season.
The project came into being in December 2022 when a collection of digital cameras were provided to a group of individuals supported by the charity. Their shared goal was to capture the experiences of homelessness during Christmas. What began as a weekly photography group, evolved into a moving collection of images depicting the reality of rough sleeping, street begging, and living in unstable accommodation during the Christmas period.

Today there is a spoken word event by In Cahootz within the fine surroundings of their exhibition in the Project Room, first floor of Trongate 103. The exhibition is on until tomorrow.
Most of In Cahootz's artwork is produced when participants workshop around our kitchen table. A focal point of our art base where everyone meets and greets and eats. It needed to be featured as part of the Kitchen Collective exhibit. If you come along for a look you too can experience its warmth with a tea and a biscuit.

Preview: Thursday 02 March, 6pm - 8pm
Exhibition Runs: 03 March - 01 April 2023
At Glasgow Print Studio
Nadia Lucchesi’s exhibition of new lino prints sees her turn her distinctive illustrative style to the central subject of birds, many deeply symbolic across different cultures past and present. Cockerels, heron, peacocks and more are depicted in deceptively simple, bold and brightly coloured prints. Nadia is influenced by mid-20th century illustration and decorative design, and a love of visual storytelling, and these prints have been produced in a spirit of experimentation, joy, and playfulness.

Each of the them explored the word ‘flux’ and its visual associations, which has led to the works on show using a variety of mediums and approaches.
Stay tuned for news on an upcoming event with the artists!
