Each one is shaped and meticulously sanded by hand and then treated with a durable food safe finish.

Our new Studio Shop is open every weekend from now until Christmas. 12-4pm every Saturday & Sunday.

This will include a large selection of chopping boards, some very delicate bowls & vessels with an indigo dye & some new ceramics with glazed made from the studio’s waste wood material.

Sanded to a beautiful smooth finish. A lovely addition to any baker’s kitchen.

A very delicate, undulating edge.

Turned green on the lathe, left to dry in a box of the fresh shavings and then finished off the Lathe to a fine polish.

A few favourites from my latest collection of ceramics.

All pieces are made from stoneware clay and the glazes are food safe.

Each piece is unique and many are very delicate. These pieces mark the beginning of my work with clay and I look forward to launching another collection soon.

Coffee scoops in 1tbsp & 2tbsp measures.

Holly oak & cherry.

Each one is cut out and then carved by hand, sanded through seven grades of sandpaper and then treated with Danish oil. A layer of coconut oil & beeswax is added at the end to bring it the beautiful lustre within the wood.

These pieces feel like silk to touch and this very fine finish is retained even after washing.

A long process but I believe it’s worthwhile.

Delicate holly in the afternoon sun.

Made from a freshly cut holly tree, donated by friends who had the tree cut down in their garden on Bute.

Turned on the lathe, dried for a few months in the fresh shavings, then finished off the lathe to create a soft and delicate edged piece with a more weighted base.

Each one is shaped by hand to create a unique and irregular shape, and then sanded very finely.

A selection of ceramic pieces will be available online this Friday, alongside some new wooden wares.

These first few experiments are working toward combining wood and clay together through wood ash glazes and mold- making. Lots to develop and solve yet but it has been interesting to try some new technique and materials
