# This week has been tough.
It always is this time of year. The juggle of running a business and the balance of a being a small business and a mum, adding in the fact Christmas is fast approaching.
# This year has been tough.
The economy and the financial crisis, the high-streets shopping rapidly declining. The media claiming this decline to be ‘Terminal’
Big well known shops are closing their doors and leaving the high-streets.
The empty vacant buildings around us and the ever increasing costs for having a presence on the high-street.
The huge electric costs, the huge retail business rates (they’ve tripled this year) amongst many other financial stress factors.

I am very lucky that I have family and friends around me who work for free, provide the childcare and help take that extra layer of stress away. Thank you.

WE ARE NOT LEAVING, WE ARE NOT GOING, WE ARE STILL HERE.

But

WE NEED YOU! Please please come and visit, come and use us. Every spend big or small makes a difference.
PLEASE be patient, PLEASE remember we are just us. PLEASE be kind.

We make mistakes, we can and will forget things, we don’t have a fancy technology system that does everything for us at a push of a button. The majority of what we do is still on old fashioned index cards, with pen, paper and plenty of sellotape. Everything is done manually it all takes time but it does happen and often quicker than these big businesses that have hundreds of staff and the technology to make life easy for them.

If you can’t shop with us, don’t need to buy things from us or sell your things with us. You can still support us by telling people about us - advertising for free 😃

At the end of the day when we close the shop we really do look at the takings of the day and do a little celebration 🙌🏽 when it’s been a good day ending on a positive and not a negative.
