The Two Rivers Food Bank have recently changed the way people can have access to their food bank to make it more open for people who need the support. They are opening their services up to assist anyone that may need our support, regardless of their circumstances.
Anyone who feels that they need support with food can register with them. Once registered this will enable the household applying to receive one free food parcel, one a week, for up to six weeks. If a household requires further food parcels they will then charge £5 for each weekly food parcel unless the client is referred to them by one of their registered referral agencies.
If you wish to receive support from them you can visit thier website www.two-rivers.org.uk or to register with them visit www.two-rivers.org.uk/apply

Hi All,
Firstly I would like to say thank you to everyone who has shown interest in volunteering to assist our group for those who are self isolating and may need some extra help
So here is a summary of what the group is about.
Our goal is to assist anyone that is self isolating within the community where we can whether this is through essential supplies, collecting medication, delivering prescriptions etc but the main thing we have to take into account is our own health and safety.
In the next 48 hours we will be publishing a shift sheet for the next 7 days. It will consist of 3 shifts a day which are the following:
12:00 - 08:00
08:00 - 16:00
16:00 - 00:00
We have a team of designated volunteers who are set to manage the 24 hour phone and take requests of help.
What we are looking to designate a number of volunteers to cover each area per shift.
When a request comes in to the call handler they will contact one of the volunteers designated to that shift to see if they are able to complete that request for help.
Once the help request is completed the volunteer will contact the call handler and let them know it is completed.
As we all know this is new to us and we are sure the system will have some teething issues. It may be that we only get one request within the whole shift or we could end up having 50. We just don't know.
The system has been set up by volunteers for the community so please bear with us.
There is a website set up solely for the area of Goole and Old Goole
All volunteers who are assisting the group have been registered with the group. If you wish to volunteer then you can register your details online.
https://goolevolunteering.wixsite.com/covid19
All of our volunteers will be provided with an ID and must be warn at all times when assisting. There will be a strict volunteer protocol sent out to all volunteers helping and separate protocol sent out to all residents.
If you have not registered your details with the group then you will not be able to assist.
We must stress that the health and welfare of ourselves, members of the community as well as people self isolating are vital. Together we can get through these tough times that none of us have experienced before,
For those of you that are self isolating and need help. We will assist you to the best we can. Once you have registered you will not need to register again all you need to do is contact the help line number.
I hope this gives everyone some sort of insight into what we are hoping to be able to do for the community.
Our volunteers urgently need mask and gloves, if anyone can help we can collect , thank you and god bless
