Howdenshire Music Project
The Howdenshire Music Project is a non-profit voluntary community group. We promote free lunchtime concerts in Howden Minster, working in close partnership with the Minster.
Our concerts are free as one of our main aims is to make the joy of live music more accessible to everyone - particularly young people, people of retirement age and potentially disadvantaged groups within society. We are always looking for ways to reach new audiences, including schools, by providing concerts, workshops and educational events - all free of charge.
The Howdenshire Music Project offers a platform for established performers and composers, as well as exciting new up-and-coming artists. Our work is mainly focused at Howden Minster but we are also keen to work with other venues in and around Howdenshire, including the area between the River Derwent and Newport.
Additionally, we aim to purchase a new high-quality grand piano that can be used for concerts and by the wider Howdenshire community, including schools, local groups and aspiring young musicians. There is currently no such instrument within a 25 mile radius of Howden. We are passionate about investing in the future of music in our community and securing it for many years to come.
