A subtle Everton football themed cake organised by Meghan for her husband Chris’s 30th birthday.

Meghan and Chris were one of my wedding couples from last year, so it was lovely to be asked to make another cake for them.

It was my partner’s birthday last weekend and, although I didn’t have a lot of time, I still managed to put together a stack of records cake for him. I was working until late into the night to get this ready after my other orders were finished.

When I was approached by Elza at Goole Town Cricket Club to make a lorry cake for the company I used to work for, I couldn’t say no. This cake was a whopper at around 20” long. It’s difficult to get an idea of scale so I’ve added a photo of me holding it, and boy was it heavy! The 24 cupcakes had the company’s 100 year anniversary logo on the toppers.

Matching Christening cakes for brother and sister, Henry and Alice. Henry is obsessed with stars, so he was thrilled when he saw the cakes.

The photos don’t do these cupcakes justice - they are a lovely shade of blush pink and latte. The piped buttercream was a new design for me and I’m really happy with how they turned out.

‘Grandpa Joe’ has appeared in many films during his 90 years, so some of these featured in a film reel around the bottom of his cake. The family also wanted his late wife included on the cake, so we decided on a framed edible print of them both on top. This cake will no doubt bring back lots of happy memories.

My neighbour and returning customer Jane asked me to make some cupcakes for a MacMillan Coffee Morning being organised by her sister Emma in memory of her daughter Lucy who sadly lost her battle with leukaemia earlier this year. I was thrilled to receive a message after the event to say that they had raised an astonishing £3,000 for the charity.

Singer Kayleigh loves wearing pink and drinking pink (of course) Prosecco. This two tier buttercream covered lemon sponge cake featured a silver drip and her beloved dog Winnie.
