Here’s a few pics of just some of the gorgeous animals I’ve had the pleasure of looking after this year, and a list of the names from this year- it’s getting longer and longer each year!!😂
Thank you to each and every single one of you. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2024 for us all- human, furry, feathered, wooly and scaled 🥰
I’m blow away by the generosity of you wonderful clients, feeling truly loved and appreciated today!

THANK YOU to each and every one of you that has continued to support my little business this year, and kept me so busy running around like a mad woman!! It’s been a tough year for me with the loss of my own horses, so each and every one of your animals is now even more special and important to me, and many have been a huge comfort to me on my weak moments and allowed me to shed a tear into their beautiful manes.❤️
Here’s some pics of just an handful of your beautiful creatures I’ve had the pleasure to look after this year, and I’ve done a list of names of the animals from this year(horses in first three columns, other animals in last two), some sadly no longer with us and have joined my herd over rainbow bridge. Each and every one holds a place in my heart ❤️
Happy New Year to you all, I wish you all health and happiness for this coming year, and hope to see you all again soon!!!
😊
Wishing all my amazing clients, two and four legged, a very merry Christmas! ❤️
💔👑
❤️
There is a place that you go,
No matter what you believe,
While all those who love you,
Take time to grieve.
The sweet smell of hay,
And the greenest of grass,
Gentle soft muzzles,
A place time doesn’t pass.
Your loss will be felt,
But we’ll take comfort and know,
The day that you left,
We knew where you’d go.
Reunited with loved ones,
No more to depend,
Reins in one hand,
Your ride never ends.
While we all mourn,
While we’ve lost someone great,
We know that so many,
Wait for you at the gate.
Thank you, your majesty,
For all that you’ve done,
Gather up the reins now,
It’s your time to ride on.

Tough morning this morning, having to say farewell to a beautiful old girl at my first job, 32years old. Run free Cassie girl, over rainbow bridge. You will be so missed by everyone who ever met you 💔😢🌈
** INFORMATION APPEAL **
This sweet little pony has recently been at the centre of a number of phone calls to not only the Police, but the RSPCA too.
Most recently she was spotted wandering along Main Street, Swannington all on her own.
She is currently being well cared for and is safe and secure and her chip reveals she had a registered keeper, but certainly not a local one.
Do you recognise this pony? Who do you believe she is owned by? Who has recently been caring for her?
If you have any information at all, please make contact with PC 237 Emma HOLMES on the email below -

It's Friday evening and EVERYONE wants to get home.
This evening, circumstances meant I had to take Orion on the main 30mph road (alone) with drivers travelling at 40mph+. I appreciate everyone has different views regarding horses on the road. But, trust us. We don't want to be there either!
Naturally I didn't position myself in the bike lane. I instead rode in the middle of the lane, to the dismay of several cars. The reason I did this is because it discourages drivers from overtaking at speed. It forces them to slow down and wait for a safe opportunity to pass. This isn't me being ignorant and thinking that I "own the road". Believe it or not we do this for the safety of everyone involved. Shock horror.
"Pass wide and slow" doesn't mean pass wide and fast. Nor does it mean pass close and slow. This evening an oncoming police car had to stop traffic and educate several road users and remind them of the highway code.
In 2020 1,037 incidents where reported to the BHS (British Horse Society). 81% of this figure was due to vehicles passing too closely. Shockingly nearly half was due to road rage. These figures barely scratch the surface of incidents that go unreported.
80 horses died with 136 injured and 1 rider killed. These statistics don't included injured drivers or written off cars.
Another argument I hear is that not all horse riders are polite and say thank you. Please consider that it isn't safe for riders to take one hand off the reins and sometimes you don't deserve a thank you.
Motorists (I stress not all) see a rider on the road and focus on the horse. That annoying stupid animal that is getting in the way of that 7pm beer after a stressful day. What they forget to remember is there is also another human being involved. A person who has friends and family waiting for them to come home...safely. That person also wants to get their horse back to the farm safely.
Most people don't realise that the majority of riders are insured to ride on the road, incase of these incidents. However we would prefer not to use our insurance or call the fire brigade to drag our dead friends out of your windscreen.
Most road users have little to none experience around horses and that's ok. I don't have any experience or understanding of people's love for golf but here we are.
The picture below shows Orion standing next to the average UK car. Just take a moment and think about the size difference and how passing at speed over 15mph gives you absolutely no reaction time. I guarantee you also wouldn't make it home to your family. For the sake of taking your foot off the gass for a minute.
You wouldn't stand on the platform edge whilst a train passed at speed. So, please don't make us experience this on an animal who is fighting it's instinct to keep us safe.
I was concerned and shocked that some drivers (this evening) didn't understand my hand signals despite this being part of the theory test and common sense.
The saying is "kill your speed, not my horse" but I think it's more relevant to say: kill your speed, not everyone involved.
Please, let's just get home safe.
Pub anyone?

NO BAN?!?! What the actual F…..??? NO BAN? no sentence, this is appalling 😡🤬😡🤬
CONVICTED: stables owner Kate Greenhalgh, 30, from , West Sussex – left horses to starve and suffer with untreated health conditions
Greenhalgh, an eventing rider and showjumper who ran the KG Equestrian stables, failed to take action when four horses in her care became unwell and were “obviously” malnourished..
The public reported their concerns after seeing a horse collapsed in the field.
RSPCA Inspectors Becky Carter and Kate Barnes, and World Horse Welfare’s Chief Field Officer Claire Gordon arrived to be told that the horse, known as Kai, had already been put to sleep and his body removed.
Inspector Carter said: “When we arrived we checked over the horses at the site and found two of them, Adelaide and a young c**t, to be in very poor body condition.
“A third horse, Val, was totally emaciated. Adelaide and Val were also suffering from really severe mud fever and rain scald – they had a lot of hair loss and sores on their coats and legs.
“The young c**t was so lame he couldn’t bear weight on one leg and could barely walk. He had a very elevated heart rate indicating he was in significant pain.
“The vet discovered he had an abscess in his foot which he predicted had been in this condition for over a week, as the infection had traveled up the horse’s leg and had to be drained of a large amount of pus.
“They certified all three horses to be suffering and the police agreed for us to remove them.”
Kai’s owner Nikki Cochran described how the impact of her “unique” horse dying had been shattering.
She said: “I was proud to have bought a foal with such special breeding. So standing in that field, watching my dream horse die was almost too difficult for words. I have been severely traumatised by what I witnessed.”
Ms Cochran said it has left her in anguish and struggling to trust people because of Greenhalgh, adding: “She turned our dream into our nightmare.”
Following the judgment Inspector Carter said: “This was such a sad case to investigate as the poor health of the horses could have been avoided with appropriate care, and by following vet advice.
“These horses were under the care of Greenhalgh, who is a competition rider, as part of a professional arrangement through her business KG Equestrian, where she would take on horses on livery for backing, competing and sales.
“It’s particularly sad for the horses’ owners as they were under the impression their animals were being looked after.
“Thankfully, Adelaide, Val and the young c**t were returned to their owner and have made a good recovery.”
Sentencing: 12-week suspended prison sentence; 120 hours of unpaid work; compensation of £3,650; £878 in costs and charges. NO BAN.

**feed**
I have been contacted by a couple of people for some feed advice for the laminitic horse, and since I now have some time on my hands I’ve been researching various feeds with a view of complying a list of feeds and their sugar and starch content so you as owners have an easy reference guide to make your own decision from.
My head now hurts and I find myself getting so angry with these feed companies I have had to only do this research in small chunks. I am shocked at the number of companies that are advertising their specific balancer or feed as “safe for laminitics” or “suitable for those prone to laminitis” when they have a combined starch and sugar content of over 10%, one even 14%😮, and the number that have molasses in (not to mention other undesirables like GM soya, but that’s a whole other topic!!😩), and that’s just the companies that have the info available online.... one company lists everything except the sugar and starch....wonder why?!🙄🤔
Anyway, the list is in the process of composition, but it’s got me wondering what you good folk feed your horses, why you have chosen what you have, and if you know what’s in it. I’d be fascinated to know, so please comment and tell me your story.
Thank you!🙂
Rest In Peace Prince Phillip 💔
I’m afraid to say I am out of action for 6 weeks 😢😩
If I can come back sooner I will, you know me, but I really must heal this completely before returning to work.
Stay safe everyone.
Who would have thought I’d hurt myself baking rather than in my job!!🤣🤣
Bollox!! 😵
I’m afraid I am out of action for a couple of weeks following a silly accident yesterday afternoon, got to have surgery later today to stitch myself back together.
I’m so sorry to let my clients down 😧. You all know as soon as I am able too (regardless of drs orders!) I shall be back with you, but I do need to make sure I’m fully able to function completely so as not to risk further damage or be unable to safely look after your horses for you.
Stay safe everyone, and I shall keep you updated ❤️
Fitted little Geoffrey the Shetland with his first set of boots today- how cute does he look!!
Geoffrey is suffering from a winter laminitis, so we are needing to make him more comfortable to promote movement. He is under vet care, and his owner is doing everything she can to make changes to help him heal, and loose weight. It’s a long road, as with any laminitis, but he is improving daily 😊Keep up the good work!!
I would encourage you all to download this app and use it to report incidents- the more reported the better picture the society will have on what problems equestrians are facing, and provides evidence to support action to be taken. They estimate only 1 in 10 incidents get reported.
You can report incidents on the road/off road with vehicles; near misses, verbal abuse etc, and incidents with dogs, fireworks etc. It only takes a couple of minutes to complete a report.
Thank you, and stay safe and alert out there.
New safety app allows riders to report incidents ‘quickly and easily’ The British Horse Society has launched the incident reporting app, Horse I, allowing horse riders to report incidents on the road, with dogs or fireworks
