We have had a wonderful last week, weโve made lots of fun Christmas craft, baked gingerbread shapes and went on a festive walk round the village.
Today we had a fabulous Christmas party lots of dancing, party games and lovely party food. The children have all been very good and so were rewarded with a very special visitor from The North Pole.
Finally we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your continued support and for the wonderful thoughtful gifts we have received. All thatโs left to say is โwe hope you all have a simply wonderful Christmas timeโ ๐ตand canโt wait to hear all about in January.

We had another wonderful week enjoying lots of Christmas fun activities!
The glitter has been everywhereโฆ. Fabulous Christmas trees were made, Christmas stockings decorated and Christmas puddings looking almost good to eat!
Our Christmas songs are still being practiced and fingers crossed the children sing and do all their actions on Wednesday & Thursday ๐ถ
One more week left till we break up, lots more fun to fill in more glittery craft to create and maybe a visit from Santa ๐

Last week we started our Christmas celebrations, the children decorated our Christmas tree ๐ฒ (I had to make a few small changes to it ๐) they also explored our tinsel sensory tray and made snowmen from the white play dough โ๏ธ
We had a wonderful snowy village scene complete with train track for Santa to visit ๐
๐ป this was paired with the nativity figures and animals.
In the large tuff tray we had Christmas tree placements and lots of different things to decorate them with and even some small presents ๐
The children will have lots of opportunities to make and create different Christmas crafts. Weโve also been busy learning our fab Christmas songs and loving the Christmas stories in the book corner! It really is the most magical time of year โจโจ

What a fun packed week we have had at Pre School. We have enjoyed a vets surgery as our role play area and have seen lots of caring and looking after poorly animals.
The children have all shared with us what pets they have at home and what type of pets they would like โฆ a few unicorns were mentioned ๐ฆ
Weโve read some fab pet stories and sang pet related songs and nursery rhythms (weโve also started learning Christmas songs too)
For our craft weโve made fish using celery sticks and paint to create fish scales they looked fab. Then we used different types of collage and glue to make some dogs and cats.
Next week Christmas arrives โจ๐ฒ๐

Weโve had another fabulous fun filled week learning all about our five senses.
Our play dough table had lots of different herbs to smell and mix into the dough.
We used our sight to look at lots of different fruits, pink grapefruit, limes, pineapple lemons and oranges. We touched them and used fab words like smooth, rough, bumpy and soft. The fruit was cut up and the children tasted them using words sweet, sour and yuck!
We had lots of fun playing a guess the sound game and learnt a new song all about our senses.
To finish off the week the children got the chance to use all their senses to bake and decorate their own buns ๐ง๐

As promised weโve celebrated children in need day in style, from wearing our pjโs to creating fabulous Pudsey bears. A wonderful way to finish off a busy fun filled week.

This week we have been exploring nursery rhymes. Weโve enjoyed learning new rhymes and singing along with actions weโve also been reading books with rhyming words in them.
Fun craft activities have been set up to bring the nursery rhymes to life. The children have enjoyed making finger mice and boats along with doing their own self portraits and weโve seen some fab creations out of the magnetic building shapes.
Tomorrow is all about Children In Need so we will be making our own Pudsey bears.
To commemorate Remembrance Day the children made poppies. We learnt the difference between the red poppy and the purple poppy โค๏ธ๐
๐ฅ๐๐. BONFIRE NIGHT ๐๐๐ฅ
Sparks flew high this week as we explored some cracking activities for bonfire night.
The children shared their experiences from last weekend watching fireworks and going to see bonfires. We made some gorgeous firework paintings and explored coloured sand and rice in our tuff trays to create more fireworks. We also made our own bonfire pictures too.
The small world area had a huge play bonfire set up for the happy people to watch, along with the emergency services on hand ๐๐งฏ๐๐ฎ๐

Weโve had a lovely fun filled spooktastic week!
The children have loved listening to lots of different Halloween books including of course โRoom on the broomโ .
Pumpkins were decorated using paint rollers, witches hats were covered in lots of sparkles and glitter and the fun Halloween stencils were used to create lots of different pictures,
Spaghetti was turned into wiggly worms for the children to explore. Witches potions were made both inside and outside ๐งโโ๏ธ
We certainly ended the half term with lots and lots of fun!

Our book of the week last week was โThe very helpful Hedgehogโ we learnt all about sharing and being kind.
We decided to make our own Hedgehog by using some of the fab leaves weโve all been collecting ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ฆ
At the end of the week we created some lovely pictures using apple printing!

Last week we continued our Autumn theme ๐๐โ๏ธ๐ with our book of the week The Leaf Thief.
The children went on a walk around the village to find Autumn treasures. We used the leaves in our creative tuff tray to make fab pictures and we enjoyed conker rolling outside!

We are holding a Halloween party ๐๐ป๐ธ๏ธ๐งโโ๏ธto help raise funds for Pre School.

Our book of the week has been โThe little red henโ The children have made their own little red hens and had a go at making some bread ๐ we also danced and sang to a song all about vegetables ๐ฅฆ๐ฅ๐ง

Weโve learnt all about the word โharvestโ and explored our tuff tray with lots of different vegetables and soil.

The children have enjoyed lots of colour matching activities, jigsaws, singing the rainbow song and our fab book of the week โWow said the Owlโ
We are enjoying meeting all our new starters and welcoming back our children to Pre-School. They are all doing extremely well settling in and weโve loved hearing about their adventures during the summer.

Today we held a leavers party for our amazing children who will be going to big school in September.
We all got to spin plates, do some limbo dancing and play lots of fun party games with prizes ๐
Then after some fab party food we got to sit down and enjoy a brilliantly funny puppet show, there were lots of smiles and laughter ๐
Itโs been a pleasure to watch the children grow and be ready to thrive in their next big learning adventure. We are sad to say goodbye but send all our love and good wishes for the future # # #

Welcome to the very last week of the school year, canโt quite believe we break up on Friday.
A supermarket is set out in the role play area, itโs stocked full of things to browse and buy, put in the baskets and then take to the checkout area ๐๏ธ๐
For weighing and measuring fun we have pasta and lentilโs with measuring spoons, pots to fill and weighting scales
The creative trays and picture frames are in the middle tuff tray. We have lots of natural items for the children to use to creative fab pictures.
On the floor mat we have the eco house to build with the construction cranes and workmen.
Finally our small world is a happy people zoo with lots of different animals to see and explore with.
Weโve been very busy at Pre School this week, we have been continuing our at the seaside theme and our fab display is looking awesome ๐ โ๏ธโฑ๏ธ๐๐ชฃ๐งโโ๏ธ
A campsite with tent, bbqโs and picnic blanket is out in the role play area ๐๐โบ๏ธ
For exploration of all different types of bugs we have a wonderful tuff tray full of them, complete with bug finders and magnifying glasses! Thereโs lots of naturals for them to hide in. ๐๐ฆ๐ชฒ๐๐ท๏ธ๐ชณ
Our construction mat has the large box duplo, weโve seen lots of fab creations!
In the tuff tray we have our brand new building magnet shapes. The children have used their imagination and amazing building skills to build houses, churches, towers and even some buses and cars ๐
Finally our small world table has a selection of houses and even a village pond!
Another wonderful week learning through play ๐
Our role play this week is a fabulous florist ๐ผ๐ท๐ป๐ธ๐น๐ with lots of flowers and plants to look after and sell to customers!
The children have been having fun using the magnets to explore the room as well as all the items in the tuff tray to see what things are magnetic and which are not ๐งฒ
On the small world table we have large and small rockets ๐ and spacecrafts complete with astronauts, space dogs and fun aliens ๐ฝ ready for lots of outer space missions and adventures!
For construction we have stickle bricks in the tuff tray and the brio wooden train track on the floor.
Lots of different train tracks have been built with tunnels, bridges and turntables! Whilst the stickle bricks have been made into towers, boats, cars, houses and various other structures! All showcasing the childrenโs fab construction skills!
What a lovely Monday we have had continuing our โat the seasideโ theme ๐๏ธโ๏ธ๐๐๐๏ธ
We talked lots about we you see and do when you visit the seaside and even read a fabulous book all about Kipper and a beach ball!
The painting easels have been set up outside and the children were very excited to paint some seaside pictures ๐
As we spoke about ice creams we decided to make our own using our pencil skills with a ruler to make the cornets then added cotton wool, dripping red paint and finally a โchocolate flakeโ . They look fab!
This week we have been continuing to learn about sun safety and how we keep ourselves safe while playing outside in the wonderful sunshine โ๏ธ
Weโve started doing some fun craft all related to things you see at the seaside. We have made some fab seagulls and today we designed sun hats!
Our seaside themed display board also has a beautiful sparkly mermaid and some jelly fish on it!
The role play area is a โgarageโ we have a broken down tractor in need of repair. Thereโs bookings to be taken for car services and repairs along with all the tools required to fix then.
On the large floor mat there is a safari with track and every type of animal you can think of, all living together, swimming in the water hole or exploring the terrain! ๐๐ฆ๐
๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐ฆง๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ
To encourage the children to use their fine motor skills as well as good hand eye coordination is the threading. We have big and small threading as well as the different threading boards.
In the middle tuff tray we have the wonderful small world fairies, unicorns and elves with their amazing fairy house!
Weโve made some mint smelling play dough for the children to mould, cut, and roll with.
Finally we have some wooden jigsaw puzzles!
All makes for Lots of continued learning through play ๐๐
This week at Pre-School we have a wonderful โTea Roomโ selling lots of yummy cakes and treats along with a fab selection of ice creams ๐ฐ๐ง๐ฅฎ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง with cups of tea and coffee to be served or a drink of juice from our โjuicerโ,
On our small world table we have Fireman Sam, his Fire station and engines alongside the village of Greendale where you can find Postman Pat and all his friends!
We asked some of the children what they would like on the colourful mat and they wanted the babies ๐ถ๐ผ so weโve created a little crรจche.
In the tuff tray weโve created โat the seasideโ there is a beach and some sea. The children have enjoyed playing with the sand and the happy people who are on holiday there. We have been having lots of discussions about what we see and do when we visit the seaside and in the coming weeks we are going to be doing lots of seaside craft!
Finally in the construction tuff tray we have Knex for lots of fun building either by following the creative cards or just using their own imagination to create fab designs ๐

Emotional last, but exciting, day for Amanda!
Sheโs been spoilt with lots of fabulous well wishes gifts and hugs! We also got to have a fabulous afternoon tea at lunchtime (thanks to the committee). ๐ง

Welcome to the final week before we break up for half term and also sadly Amandaโs last week ๐ข
We have a wonderful under the sea tuff tray with lots of fab sea creatures to explore ๐ ๐ฌ๐ณ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฆ
The ever popular cars and garages with fun wooden ramps are on the large floor mat. We have racing cars, trucks, buses and all types of small cars to zoom along the floor, build fun traffic jams and race down the garage tracks. ๐๏ธ๐๐๐๐๐๐
In our role play area the vet surgery is open to care for lots of different poorly animals ๐ฅ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐น
Finally the rhyming tubes are in the other tuff tray. The children are learning how things rhyme and therefore which tub they belong it. We have also been discussing other things that rhyme around the room!
Baby lamb Aurora came to spend the day with us today!
The children loved her being in the garden while they played, she was incredibly calm and loved being stroked. We learnt all about lambs and how they like to drink milk, eat grass and also how you must wash your hands after touching them.
Everyone enjoyed Auroraโs visit and hopefully she can come again soon ๐
We have just received this from the charity we supported. A huge thank you to everyone that came to Pre-School wearing their pjโs and for your donations.
We have created a new role play, itโs a fantastic โGarden Centreโ ๐๐ธ๐ผ๐ชด Thereโs lots of flowers to look after along with bulbs to plant and water. All this has been made possible using the money we raised from the bun sale at the Easter Egg. Thank you so much!
The children will be learning all about planting and growing this week and we have a few activities planned to support this. We are also going to press some flowers to make sun catchers, the children have been busy collecting lots of daisies from the garden today ๐
Happy Coronation Day ๐ฌ๐ง๐
The children and grown ups have worked hard on a large collage to commemorate King Charles III
It is now in place on the stage (thanks to Sharon and Dan) ready for the family fun in The Crown garden.

The children have had lots of fun decorating their own crowns and using paints and felt tips to colour some fab coronation pictures!
Weโve been learning all about the King, from the names of the two crowns he will wear at his coronation and what he will carry to the names of his two rescue dogs!
The children have also been working on a large collage picture of King Charles III ready for display at the coronation family day on Saturday ๐
This week we are talking and learning all about the Kings Coronation. We have lots of activities planned and photos will be shared throughout the week ๐๐ฌ๐ง
We have a royal tuff tray with the King and Queen along with the royal coach, church, castle and a London bus. Lots more things will be added to this as the week goes on ๐
On the large table is the emergency vehicles with wooden Fire Station, fire engines and fire fighters ๐งฏ๐๐ฅ the wooden Police Station, police cars, police officers and a few โbaddiesโ complete the set up for lots of fun imagination play๐ฎโโ๏ธ๐ฎ๐๐จ
For construction we have the road to build around a fab working farm with lots of tractors, farm buildings and escaping farm animals ๐๐๐๐๐
Our role play is a takeaway shop with pizzas, burgers, chicken, fries and salad to cook and serve the many customers ๐๐๐๐ฅฌ๐
Finally in the mathematical tuff tray we have the matching pegs and numbers, this helps promote counting as well as number recognition!
Looking forward to a fun filled royal celebration week while learning through play ๐
This week at Pre-School we have created a fabulous โAfrican Watering Holeโ with lots of different animals coming together to have a dip in the water or just have a drink.
The children can use their existing knowledge to identify some of the wild animals and also learn some new animals too ๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ
On the large floor mat for small world play, we have a mixture of different sizes castles. From a very large medieval castle guarded by knights from the dragons to a royal castle with kings, queens, princesses, thrones, horses and carriages! Lots of opportunities for fab imagination play.
Our role play area is a crรจche with lots of babies to look after. We have a play gym, baby cots, car seats and carriers, as well as lots of feeding dishes and bottles. The basket is full of different outfits to dress them in and lovely blankets to wrap the babies up in too.
The mathematical cubes and boards are in the middle tuff tray for lots pattern work, counting and creative building.
Finally we have lots of different jigsaws to help promote the childrenโs problem solving skills both independently and working with each other!
