Hello everyone, I am JP Stores, Hook Village Store and Post Office.
I have been here in the village for decades. I have changed hands a few times, been through some very difficult and challenging times, Covid and even had to sadly close once, which I very nearly did again recently. I have been given one final chance by new friend Mr Amo Singh. I am now fully stocked with most items you could desire on your very own doorstep. I am competitively priced too. I have wines, spirits, beers and ciders galore. Ci******es, newspapers, sweeties and treats, soft drinks and all your daily essentials. Just come and see what I have to offer, something for everyone. Of course I still have the Post Office services available too. The place to sort your postage, parcels, stamps, deposit and withdraw your cash, even the currency for your far away travels. I have a whole new look inside and outside. So, I now offer you a warm and friendly welcome and invite you one and all to come and visit as I now need your custom and support to help me grow and flourish within our community, my new opening hours are:
Store 6am till 8pm Monday to Saturday, 9am till 6pm Sundays.

Post office hours are
9am till 5pm, Monday to Saturdays.

Don't forget we're open until 5pm today, and tomorrow we start opening the post office between 9am and 5pm

We've had a lot of people confused about our opening hours as we try to get on top of everything so here goes: 6am till 8pm Monday to Saturday; Sunday 9 till 5pm. The Post Office will be open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 1pm (till further notice). Hope that clarified it. Meanwhile keep popping in as there's some great bargains to he had!

Just another update for you this evening. We have a few Ts to cross until things can be finalised but future opening hours are looking like the following.
The post office will be opening Monday to Saturday 9am till 5pm and closed on a Sunday.
Store hours: 6am till 8pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday 9am till 5pm.
This will be for a trial while we assess the community response and support.

The new owners are already making their mark and put up some window and door shutters yesterday. While the transition takes place please be aware that the shop WILL NOT be open on Sundays for the foreseeable. Thanks for your patience.

Good morning all.

Just a little post to the person that keeps complaining to East Riding Council about the shop licence. We have one in place, nothing is being done wrong so please stop wasting council time and effort.

For those of you residents and shareholders who didn't attend the recent meeting to discuss the future of the shop, this is the latest. The shop is being taken over very soon and until that time, about three weeks, it will be open at reduced hours of 9am to 1pm. Thanks to all those who came along to offer their help and support.

Just a reminder that we are holding an extraordinary meeting at 2pm on Saturday 30th April for share holders and villagers re the future of the shop. Please attend if possible

Two important things to remember tomorrow. First, the shop will be closed noon until 1.30pm, and second, make sure you pop in and put your numbers on!

Apologies, but, due to a staff shortage, the shop and post office will be closed tomorrow, Saturday April 2. The post office will also be closed on Wednesday, April 6. The shop however will remain open but can only accept cash payments on that day. Sorry for the inconvenience

Lindt Lindor Brownies have been dropped off at Hook Community Shop this morning, along with Salted Caramel Brownies, Kinder Brownies, Creme Egg Brownies & Chocolate Orange Brownies too!

We’ll be dropping a refresh off again on Friday along with a limited number of our Mothers Day Cupcakes!
