We are looking forward to seeing our Year 1 and 2 children on Tuesday 3rd at 8.40 am on the playground.

We are also excited to see our new Year R children on the home visits and school session next week too.

Thank you Elson Infants Fundraising Friends - PTFA for a super Year 2 leavers event. Some children were heard saying it was "The best day ever" 😍 We wish all our Year 2 children the best of luck as they move on to Junior School.

Yesterday we were thrilled to have been invited to attend the Gosport Schools in bloom award cermony. We were hoping to obtain an award to recognise the hard work that has gone into developling the Ark Garden. We took some children from gardening club and service club, and are pleased to annouce we achived 4 silver awards AND GOLD award for the best art feature. Thank you to the children, Mrs McTaggart, Mrs Jurd and Mrs Bembridge for their passion and dedication 🌟

Today is National Armed Forces day. Yesterday, we held a special assembly to learn more about the work that our armed forces do. The children were so inspired and thank you to our visitors!

We are still feeling great after our fantastic sports afternoon hosted by CM Sports. The children told us they had a great time and loved collecting the pasta. Everyone was a winner 🌟🌟🌟

What a CRAZY kind of day. It was our Elson Infants Fundraising Friends - PTFA crazy hair day, 'bling my scooter' day, world music day and we even squeezed in a talent show! Here are a few photos from our day so far 😍

It is Clean Air Scooter Challenge week! We have been so impressed to see many of you being active and scooting to school. We have also been delighted to see so many of you walking safely with your scooter on site - we will be awarding stickers to anyone we see!

An enormous thank you to Mrs Blossom Makes for her hard work and creativity in helping us to transform the playground walls. We wanted to make this space feel more welcoming, as for most of our families this is your main entrance. Our fabulous PTFA Elson Infants Fundraising Friends - PTFA have helped to fund this project and the children gave us the ideas. The children wanted something that encorporated all of the class animals and our superheroes. We are so pleased with the finished result and we hope you like it as much as we do!

Here are our some of our Service Club on D-Day last week. The group loved creating their memorial pebble to go into our beautiful Ark Garden 🥰

The children have had a great day learning about D-Day 80. The children also looked fantastic in their red, white and blue 🌟

We had a great time yesterday meeting our new families. Thank you to everyone who attended and welcome to the Elson Infant School community 🙂

Our Service Club have been really busy during April which is the month of the Military Child by making clay tiles with a Dandelion clock design.

The Dandelion clock is the flower of the Military Child. First we designed our tiles then we transferred this onto the clay. Finally we painted them silver.

We are very proud of our tiles and really enjoyed doing them. This was part of a community project celebrating the military child with other schools.

Thank you to Gosport Community Hub who provided the clay.

Yesterday we welcomed Steven from St Thomas Church into school. He led an asssembly about kindness and the year R children especially loved being part of the assembly 🥰

Say hello to Basil Bird 👋 Basil is the mascot for ‘My Journey’ who promote healthy and safe journeys to and from Hampshire Schools. As it is walk to school week, come and say hello to Basil and give him a high-5 if you have walked as part of your journey 😀

Year 2 had a fantastic time this week on their trip to the Seacity museum. They have enjoyed learning about the Titanic and loved the workshops and guided sessions.

The 12th of May each year marks International Nurses day. Today we celebrated in assembly and even had some special visitors! The nurses talked about their job and how they help people.

Last week, Year 2 had a visit from the NSPCC. They lead some face to face sessions linked to the Speak.Out.Stay.Safe work we completed in the Spring term. The children learnt about safe adults and rehearsed the Childline number 0800 1111. Well done Year 2 🙂

Yesterday, Year 1 were truly inspired by their African sounds music lesson. This half term they are learning to play the drums and other African instruments with Mrs Reynolds and can't wait for their next session!

Donation Announcement 📣

O hiya loves! Happy Sunday! Wow! What a day it was yesterday 😅😅😅 With the help of my amazing followers, I went from selling 23 boxes of fudge on my stall at Elson Infant School to selling 75 boxes by the end of the day 😱😱😱

Honestly, you guys are incredible!

I had the chance yesterday to speak to the lovely head, the chairman of governors and Antony who invited me to come along and honestly I am so shocked by the state of funding for schools right now. It’s so unbelievably sad that the school PTA’s are having to do such extensive fundraising, for just basics to be covered.

On learning this, it made me feel so grateful to meet members of the Elson Infants Fundraising Friends - PTFA who had the biggest smiles on their faces and were just taking it all in their stride, as they do their best for their kids.

It only makes sense now for me to donate what I raised yesterday to them, so donation no. 62 is of £300 to the PTA at Elson Infant School 👏👏👏

Keep up the amazing work guys 👏👏👏 The kids are lucky to have you all 👏👏👏
