Sudbrook Moor Golf Club
Hi, I'm Pete Martin, Golf Shop Manager, Sudbrook Moor Golf Club. CREATING GOLFERS & BETTER GOLF
Essential part of the winning Team, Scott Allison playing in an earlier match of The JF Bramley Trophy.
Official report:
From the 32 Lincolnshire Golf Clubs who entered Round One in May, three played their way to qualify for the 36 hole final of the Scratch Singles Bramley Trophy Matchplay at Seacroft Golf Club, Skegness, on Sunday.
For Sudbrook Moor and Greetham Valley, they were making debut appearances and Lincoln’s Torksey Golf Club are very familiar with the event, as past champions.
The 3-man teams play in singles format and take on the other 2 clubs consecutively, over morning and afternoon rounds.
Matches won, earn one point, and matches finishing all square, earn half a point.
Greetham Valley were fractionally the strongest after the morning round, with Lincoln and Sudbrook Moor 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Fortified by lunch and reflection, afternoon persistence and motivation, won through for Sudbrook Moor. Superb golf from Levi Desmond brought maximum points, morning and afternoon, to his team tally. Rob Reid added another afternoon point with his closing holes of superior ball striking. To the delight of the huge gallery on the 17th, 3rd string, Craig Toyne, holed a spectacular 50 foot putt to keep the Sudbrook Moor match alive. Craig’s final putt on the 36th hole completed the job to secure the championship title for Sudbrook Moor, from overall 2nd, Lincoln, and 3rd Greetham Valley.

Our Story
May2019
It is 30 years since Tim Hutton left his position as club professional at Sleaford Golf Club to create a new venture with his family at Carlton Scroop. With 20 years in the golf industry to that date, Tim had identified a need for a place that encouraged people to try golf. At the time golf was often perceived to be exclusive, expensive and not always friendly towards anyone wanting to take up the game, particularly children. Furthermore, the only venues that were readily available to budding golfers were limited to seaside pitch and putts and crazy golf.
Tim owed his career in golf to Boston Golf Club with the encouragement of the members and the mentoring of Club Professional, Terry Squires. Up to 30 years ago Tim had not seen anything that compared with Boston for the inclusiveness that he experienced there in the 1960s. As a result of this, he founded Sudbrook Moor Golf Club on the principal of “Affordable, Quality Golf for All, in a Friendly Environment”.
