Air fryers have become a must have over the past couple of years as a healthier and cheaper way of cooking.

When cooking fatty foods such as bacon, breaded chicken, burgers or sausages it is recommended to add a small amount of water to the drawer underneath the basket to prevent grease from getting too hot and smoking.

Is your washing machine leaving a musty smell on your laundry or inside the drum? If so, it could indicate a build-up of dirt or bacteria (not necessarily visible).

But not to worry there's no need to replace your appliance. Most washing machine have a deep clean or maintenance wash setting. We recommend using a washing machine cleaner, we are fans of Dr-Beckmann and running the machine with an empty drum and on a hot wash (60 degrees or higher).

Are you using your dishwasher on a daily basis and want to save some money on running costs? Then one easy way to save money and energy consumption is to switch from a quick wash to the eco wash programme.

Although a quick wash may sound cheaper, but it actually uses quite a significant amount of energy. In terms of energy efficiency, an eco wash is much better than a quick wash. Eco wash saves energy by running a much slower cycle. Quick wash, on the other hand, uses more electricity because it needs to heat the water for efficient cleaning.

Getting your laundry died quickly over winter isn’t easy and with the increase in energy costs, a lot of us might feel the need to cut back on using your tumble dryer.

Putting sopping wet clothes in your tumble dryer will extend drying times and put unnecessary strain on your appliance. We recommend using the spin cycle on your washing machine to remove as much excess water as possible. It might take another 10 mins to do an extra spin, but it’ll save significant drying time and energy costs.
