Itโs been almost 4 months since Iโve done a full yoga practice or anything other than the most basic postures. I wasnโt sure when I would ever get back to it. And then suddenly on a walk the urge took hold. Maybe Iโm on my way back

Dearest Billy,
I would usually be up late the night before your birthday wrapping up presents, blowing up balloons and hanging birthday banners, but tonight I donโt really know what to do with myself.
Youโll be five tomorrow, Billy. Five! Iโve laid out all your birthday cards on the floor, I didnโt know how else to display them all, I tried to stand them up, but they kept falling over. I wanted to leave something out for the morning for you and this was the best idea I had.
So many cards, Billy. You are so loved. You told me once in the weeks before you died that you didnโt think you had โmuch friendsโ but you couldnโt have been more wrong. Being away from your friends for so long and not being able to play with them like you used to when you did see them would have been so hard for you.
Iโve been busy putting together an hour long movie of my favourite photos and videos of you for your funeral. Iโve been working on it all week. It was really hard looking back. Iโd get lost watching you grow up doing things I remember and some things Iโd forgotten and I almost believed you were still here. When I stopped working on it, reality came crashing in to hit me like a truck once again. That feeling happens so many times a day. I still just cannot believe you are gone.
Iโd be hoping youโd be sleeping now, so I could wrap your presents without you coming back downstairs, like you often did, sneaking into the room and giggling on the sofa behind one of those large cushions until we noticed you were there.
I wish I could find you there now, cheekily buying time before bed. Iโd hold your hand and walk you back up to your room, tuck you into your bed all excited for tomorrow and for the rest of your life.
This pain hurts so bad. I miss you like crazy. โค๏ธ๐ป

Itโs been a long time since Iโve been properly upside down - maybe a year!
Mostly due to welcoming vertigo into my life. Sometimes itโs so severe I spend days walking slowly and not moving my head.
Itโs been hard enough trying to co-exist with my new lodger - but teaching has been challenging on a whole new level.
But a year down the line Iโm learning to read the signs and pre-empt severe bouts. I know her now and we have come to an understanding - she is here to stay so we adapt.
And Iโm upside down again. A bit wobbly and unsure, but I did it ๐คธ๐ปโโ๏ธ

It's ! And yes, decided against subjecting you to a picture of me doing yoga ๐คฃ (as if I have any!) so I went for a โon the stairs so you can see my joggersโ shot.
I started yoga in September last year as a way to keep fit. What I didn't know when I started was how much it would help me mentally. I attend weekly classes in โYin Yogaโ, which targets deep connective tissues, and is key in keeping you mobile as you get older. There's a bit of yang with the yin too, but itโs really the discipline of yin that has helped me try to train my million mile an hour mind. Itโs taught me breathing techniques that have helped me greatly when I'm lying awake in a 3am panic. In fact, I pretty much avoid those horrible moments altogether now, by just learning to concentrate on my breath. Breathing in deeply and slowly for five, and out for five... It calms your heart, focusses your mind, and helps you get back to sleep really quickly.
I'm so new to yoga, and I'm pretty s**t at it by all means, but as my brilliant teacher Toni Wolf reminds us, it's about rolling out the mat, and giving it a go, and acknowledging the effort you put in. Before you know it, you start to see little changes.
In the last ten months I've been doing two online evening classes a week and I can now touch my toes, something I'd never been able to do before! I'm less stressed, and Iโm fitter both physically and mentally, which has got to be a good thing with a frozen IVF cycle on the horizon. I can't do headstands, (I probably will never be able to do a headstand), but I'm OK with seeing the world the right way up. And with yoga, I can see it in a much more positive light, whatever the time of day. And for that, I am so glad I found it. It's a brilliant discipline. Happy World Yoga Day!

Getting out and about again is exciting and I, for one, canโt wait for lengthy and relaxed conversations with friends rather than snatched chats in walks one by one.....
Having said that, there are lots of good things to come from our enforced time at home and one of those, for me, has been being able to access activities and experiences online, without having to leave the comfort of my sofa or kitchen table.
With that in mind, and to encourage you to take some time for your own self-care and wellbeing as you transition back towards a more social life, Toni Wolf Yoga and I are again offering a free online wellbeing workshop.

The session - lasting about 60-75 minutes - is designed to give you a taster of both our businesses - natural and organic skincare from me and yoga from Toni.
We will enjoy 30 minutes of gentle yoga, have a short break, and move on to making our own natural hand scrub (using store cupboard ingredients), which weโll then apply in a mini hand treatment.
