The Disability and Journalism Forum is the first-ever conference to highlight the positive impact staff with disabilities make on the journalism industry.

Supported by News UK, the virtual event, which will take place on March 23rd, will see leading journalists and experts come together to discuss a variety of topics from how to better support and retain staff, to how neurodiversity can benefit newsrooms.

Former TV producer Angie Alderman will help us navigate what we define as neurodiversity and how employers can ensure their workplaces are as comfortable and inclusive as they can be to a broad range of people.

Journalist Simon Sansome will talk us through how he overcame dyslexia to build one of the world's biggest disability news social media channels.

And Jo Crawford will talk through how being part of the YouTube creator network is helping her bring the news to audiences that would've otherwise missed out.

With the majority of disabled journalists being freelance, it's clear companies could do more to make their workplaces a more comfortable environment. But it's difficult to know where to begin.

To help navigate this discussion we have the country's leading neurodiversity consultancy as well as Sociability, who help firms make their workplaces more accessible.

We'll also hear from the National Union of Journalists' Disability Rep about the protections and support staff should expect as a minimum.
