borderlessgrooves
Borderless Grooves is a space for up and coming creatives to publish work without worrying about restrictions.
We aim to move the ‘needle’ on knowledge of cultures and music from countries outside of the UK & America.
We're a little late with the upload but sent over a gorgeous guest mix for the November show. Real classic Manchester rainy soulful, groove based mixed bag make you smile kinda mix.
Big thanks for coming on the show and if you've not heard Ruby before go check her out. Caught me off guard at We Out Here with a mad Indian Grime track if I remember correctly.
Link as always, in the the bio x

'It's a bit of a worldwide trip, Turkish psyche, Thai Jazz, Afrobeat, euro folk, latin, samba...plus a bit of a raja in there for good measure. Hope you like!'

This mix is essentially a bit of a play around with tunes on my usb that were getting a bit dusty. Features some all time favourites and some tunes that I don’t get to play out that often. There’s anything from flamenco, to ambient and all the way to jungle, stopping everywhere in between. Hope you enjoy the ride :)
This set was recorded at an After party that Gareth was invited to play in London last month. The mix is an eclectic selection of Southern Asian vibes fused with dark melodic beats and ends with the perfect tracks to welcome in the new day. Gareth takes his inspiration from raves that he was involved with during the early 90s and The Herbal Tea Party crew. Gareth believes that musically that you can only evolve by embracing the present and not being held prisoner in the past and this is reflected in this set.
For this second time, Guille Rodríguez sends us a very curated mix, with low bpm and many textures, acid, breaks, infinite pads... a relaxing but intense journey full of love, specially created to sit back, close your eyes and enjoy the trip :)
💖Oh b*tch... that escalated quickly.
This is ATALAYA's concept club night experience condensed for you into a one hour set, which takes you from 105 BPM of neoperreo and global reggaetón, through nasty dembow and all the way up to the 150s of bouncy spanish donk. Ven a pasar una noche en el club de la atalaya 💖

Without a mic and with the rain lashing at the window Angus took a more introspective route into the selection for this installment of The Outershell. The genre pool expands slightly over the course of this sonic exploration but the overall effect remains true to the heart of what the Outershell was founded on; luscious sounds that speak to your soul.
Hello! This Saturday Borderless Grooves will be supplied to from 12 til about 2:30 and then also by the rest of the amazing line up.
Those who've been to Green Island before know how incredible of a day it is and if you've not visited then simply by seeing this post you're probably going to really enjoy the music/vibe/line up.
Very excited to be sharing a day of music with all those playing on the day!!
Back on airwaves today. Some very lovely tunes, including the closing song from carnaval which happened last week. Still can't quite believe we managed to pull of our own little caranaval at but here we are. Expect the usual global adventures with a focus on some new releases from some of my favourite labels at the moment.
Tune in for a taste of the funky rhythms, seductive synths and jazzy horns of Burger-Highlife, a fusion genre of the Ghanian disapora which blends highlife with disco and funk!
Heralding from the Lake District, Ruairidh is as unable to commit to a genre as he is to commit to an alias (but is thankfully better at selecting tunes than an artist name). Expect plenty of tasteful synths, tasty percussion and tasteless blends
TONIGHT!!!!

This Friday joins the borderless family for a night of good tunes and silly dancing all night long at . Set to be the silliest global boogie yet to grace Manchester. For anyone's whose no yet experienced a global borderless boogie I highly recommend getting down. Its also FREEE
It's the monthly show artwork. This time featuring the amazing Lincoln Olivetti & Robson Jorge and Isaacs face. There's some rambling about the exciting new caranval and series created by Isaac and . There's selections relating to Nossa! Some jazzy bits, and the usual global funky shenanigans all wrapped up in one hour of musical health.
Lovely Borderless vibes going on over on this new joint project from Borderderless Grooves founder Isaac Williams and Steam Radio MCR founder Hannah O'Gorman
A new city, a new job, new beginnings, new record stores. Fate delivered this installment of The Outershell. Angus happened upon Hiroshi Yoshimura's Music for Nine Post Cards when exploring his new locale and has soundtracked the last few hectic weeks and provided a corner of peace amongst the mayhem.
This is album, which Angus has been longing for for years, is part of the foundations of the ethos of The Outershell and this month we celebrate this incredible album and take an opportunity to highlight some of Yoshimura's contemporaries whose creative explorations of ambient music in 1980s Japan were funded by an unlikely source.
Last months show is now on the website.
Yes it's a little late but it's here for all you're Borderless goodness. Special shouts to in this one for the compilations comingnout on of the current scene in rio. So pleased they managed to get this project over the line. Tasters of gospel, afro Latin, disco, Brazil and more for your pallette.
"Within this mix, are songs from all over the world. I tried to hone in the mix library to countries belonging to the Commonwealth before the commencement of Birmingham 2022, which I’m very excited about!" -
Due to some technical issues (being in the middle of nowhere with no signal) the insta is catching up with shows. Here were spotlighting
Amazing Sunday show focusing on baile funk this month.
On this episode of sxnny sundays, the focus is Brazil’s high-energy export Baile Funk, showcasing the relentless percussion, heavy electronic influences, and experimental offshoots pushing the genre into new territories. Enjoy!
Had the pleasure of chatting with ( & ) about the upcoming comoilation that has been mentioned a few times, Hidden Water: Strange & Sublime Sounds of Rio De Janeiro. Catch the recordingnon mixcloud or with the short article on the website.
Much love to Joe for taking the time to speak with me, it was a conversation I enjoyed a lot. Its always nice to see someone with such love for music able to use that and try and get important work out there.
The Outershell returns. In the process of packing ready for a big move Angus has spent more time than he should leafing through records instead. The best form of procrastination has yielded a slightly alternative selection to the regular output from the Outershell. Jazz from Japan, folk from Eastern Europe, balearica and synthetic voyages pepper this month's selection of enriching ambient, downtempo and electronica.
