As promised, I said I'd use my page more often again so heres a new postπ, this is one from last year. Meet the beautiful 'Todd' drawn with pastel pencils. He's A3 sized 12x16.5" and took 50+ hours to complete, although i did loose count as he was drawn over quite a few weeks. Luckily I had a fantastic, clear and detailed reference photo for this one. I always do find white or grey fur a challenge if I'm honest, especially on darker paper but I'm so happy with how he turned out. There are so many more colours in there that meets the eye. I'd love to hear what you think of him π. Feel free to share Todd's portrait with your friends, it would mean so much.
This is the 1st of many portraits I'm yet to share with you from 2019, and I still have some I haven't posted from 2018 yet π±. It feels nice to be able to post again though on here, I just need the courage to post more π¬.
I can't believe it's been over a whole year since I've posted on here π. If I'm honest too this post took a lot of thinking about and guts to post up, I wasn't actually going to post it up at all but I put so much effort into this page for years that I can't just ignore it.
Firstly I wanted to just wish you all a very happy new year π and all the best for 2020. I do promise to use this page more often, theres a few reasons why I haven't posted on here, the main reason Is that I have been so behind, stressed and overwhelmed this past year and I felt I wasn't getting anywhere. I've really not had the best 2019 and I didn't get anywhere near as many drawings done as I had planned for many reasons I won't go into, at one point I felt like giving it all up, however it's a new year and a new start so i really want to get back in top of things now. Thank you so much for everyone who had booked in and has been so patient for your drawingsπ.
Here's just a little collage of some past works from 2019. I will post them all up individually soon. I really do miss posting on here as you're all so lovely and I always appreciate your kind comments π.
Sharing a little work in progress photo of the beautiful Archie β€. This one was a Christmas gift which has now been gifted as part of a double portrait. This past few months has been very busy and hectic for me (and not with just artwork) and I'm still trying to catch up, I appologize I'd I haven't got back to any messages yet. I would like to wish you all a very happy new yearπ and all the best for 2019. 2018 has been an amazing but stressful, busy and at times a sad/difficult year for me but here's to plenty new creations next year π.
I would like to wish all of my lovely customers and fans/ followers a very MERRY CHRISTMAS πππ€. Hope you all have an amazing day spent with loved ones. I wish you all the best for 2019 and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me, even if it's from ordering a portrait to a like and share on my page, it all means so much as it helps my little business grow.
I've got a very busy few months now catching up on my drawings, they seem to be taking me 10x's longer than they did last year as I put every bit of detail and effort into them, I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew but all I want is the best for everyone who has ordered. Because of this I will be closing my commission books for a just short while so I can catch up on my drawings, but don't worry, it will only be for a few months.
I still have so many new drawings to share with you but I have been so busy on the run up to Christmas that I haven't had much time for social media, so keep your eyes peeled ππ
I thought it was about time I shared another piece with you all. I haven't officially shared this one with you yet even though he was completed and sent all the way to the U.S back in August. Meet 'Summit' the beautiful blue merle border collie. He's roughly 10x12" and took around 40 hours to complete in total (just drawing, not the sharpening, preparation etc). I'd definitely say he's my most challenging piece yet as i don't normally draw long haired dogs but i enjoyed the challenge .The reference photo was lovely however quite low resolution and was a little pixelated when i zoomed in so it did make this one a little bit more tricky. I don't know if you can see but he actually has a half blue half brown eye! I'm so happy I've had the chance to draw such a gorgeous breed! I'm currently working on 4 different pieces at once at the moment (i must be crazy lol), 3 dogs and a sweet little pony, two who sadly aren't with us any more. I'll be sure to share the progress with you soon :)
Happy national dog day!
These are some of the dogs I have drawn over the past year, some which I have not officially shared with you yet. As you may have noticed I haven't posted much lately. It's becoming more and more difficult for my posts to be seen on here recently and after working so hard and gaining a good following of 6k people, only around 5% see my posts (unless I pay) so sometimes I just feel like there's no point. It's so fustrating but that shouldn't stop me really so I will be posting more soon and sharing more completed artwork done from this year. Thank you all for your support and following my work so far!
'Betsy' 12x14"
Completed as a secret birthday commission back in April commissioned by my friends family.
Hi all, I hope you're having a lovely Sunday! I thought it was about time I posted another finished drawing. I've been either busy on my current commission or out of the house these past few weeks as it was my birthday last weekend so I've been celebrating as much as possible lol! To anyone who has messaged me and I haven't replied yet I'm very sorry, I've had tonnes of messages these past few weeks and I've been slowly trying to get through them when I've had some spare time. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
So I need to appologise to you all as I'm so behind with posting on here I have at least 3 finished peices I still haven't shared with you yetπ
I don't think I've ever been this busy, as soon as one thing is finished I'm straight on to the next. I have a few dog pieces and a horse to start very shortly that I should be able to share the progress with you all. Sorry to everyone who has booked in and had had to wait a little longer that expected, these portraits are taking a lot longer to complete than they used to as I'm putting as much detail and effort into each portrait as possible. Here's a few work in progress and close ups of Hugo's portrait for now :)
Meet Hugo the gorgeous little French bulldog who belongs to friends of mine. My largest pastel drawing so far at 16x18". I have kept this one quiet and I've now had the go ahead to share him. I really don't think this photo does the drawing justice, there was a lot of detail that whent into this portrait and the scan sadly seems to make him look quite dark.
I'd love to hear what you think of this cheeky little fella and please feel free to share him :)
Are there any other frenchie owners who follow my page? I'd love to see your cute little doggies, i just love this breed!
Work In Progress. Betsy the beautiful boxer. I got to meet and photograph this beautiful girl in person. I have a few pieces to share with you soon π. I'm so bogged down at the moment with portraits, no rest for the wicked! I can't wait to share them with you all.
Please read:
-A photo of the beautiful 'Chico' who I drew around this time last year for attention.
Iβm not sure if you're aware but Facebook has recently changed the way it works. My posts are rarely shown to more than around 5-10% of my followers and I know other small businesses and pages are suffering too.
Most of the time I have to pay to boost my posts for a silly amount of money just so they are seen. For those of you who really love seeing my artwork (and may be missing my posts), all you have to do is: Go onto my main page, click where it says 'follow' and then click 'see first' to the right (Photos in comments). I'd be very grateful. Iβm so thankful for everyone who likes and shares my work, likes my page and leaves me lovely comments on my work and especially who own a piece of my one of a kind artwork!
Many thanks, jess π
A small sneaky peak of what i'm currently working on, should hopefully be finished by the end of next week π€. This is quite a large piece (actually, the biggest size I've drawn so farπ). I've been working on this on and off for the last month trying to get it finished.
The completed photo of the beautiful American Akita, Sensha. I was so lucky to have such a wonderful pose to work from. What a gorgeous dog he is! 9x9" Pastel pencils on Pastelmat paper. Please feel free to share Sensha with you friends, It would mean so much.
Work In Progress photo of Sensha the beautiful American Akita. 9x9"
*sorry for the non artsy post
Did anyone elts get any snow today? Had a day off from my artwork and spent a few hours in the garden playing with and photographing my little pup. How cute is he? He's never seen snow falling before and he was so excited and confused. would love to see some of your snow pictures or pets playing in the snow :D
How cute are these two fluffy poines?! Both enjoying a good groom off each other. I completed this one a little while ago but couldn't post as it wad a secret birthday present.
5x7" rather small for a double portrait especially for pastelwork so it was a challange to get thoes little details in, especially the eye.
As the video wasn't great i thought I'd post some close up photographs showing the details in rosies portrait β
I just absolutely loved drawing this portrait, definitely one of my favourites. I'm currently working on a French bulldog at the moment and cant wait to share some progress shots π
Had to share from instagram because of quality upload issues. The qulity still isn't 100% on here and the colours and contrast are a bit off (I'm still trying to figure out how to use my new camera), but heres a short clip of some details in Rosie's portrait.
It's annoying as the video is crystal clear on my phone. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for uploading HQ videos on here? My settings are set to upload in HQ?π€
'Rosie'
10x12" drawn with pastel pencils.
Rosie is now finished. I'm really going to miss her beautiful face on my drawing board. Sadly she is no longer with us and i'm honoured to draw her for her owner as a memorial piece. The lovely lady who commissioned me asked me to still include her in the drawing (as in the reference photo) hugging Rosie as it it took her such a long time to be able to get close to her and hug her, she was very unloving and moody at first. I hope I've done her justice.
Please feel free to like, comment and share and thanks for looking π
Not posted anything for a little while so thought I'd share a progress shot of 'Rosie' i took a few days ago. She's nearly finished now π I couldn't even tell you how long it has taken me just to finish her headcollar
'Molly'
One of my secret Christmas commissions.
This is the smallest pastel portrait I've done to date at only 5x5" (127mm) which is incredibly small for a pastel piece and I'm so happy with the amount of detail i managed to get in this mini portrait. I've taken a few photos in different lights to show the colours in her portrait and against a pencil to show its size a little better.
A few W.I.P shots of Kipling and a photo of him in his frame at the end. I went looking at cameras yeaterday so hopefully i can have a proper video set up soon and start posting some more videos both sped up and real time vidoes π
Excuse the horrendous video quality and my tatty nail polish (it was just before i had my nails done) but i thought I'd just share a short video clip of me working on the portrait of Kipling. I'm hoping to get a proper recording set up soon so i can do some proper time lapse videos π
