The background of this piece represents our planet which even in its currently broken state still remains a beautiful spectacle, and the tree image representing the tree of life working away hard to restore the broken pieces which remain. Never giving up even in times of struggle, remaining steadfast by maintaining strong sturdy roots with a deep sense of connection to the earth.

Originally designed for an online art competition by Wraptious, through which every design entry was available to buy as a cushion for the duration of the competition. Now that the competition has concluded, this one-off original piece is now available to purchase exclusively from my Etsy store (link in bio).

Just wanted to thank everyone who has helped me in the Wraptious competition over the last few days or so by liking and/or sharing the below post.

Today is the last day to vote, and I honestly don't think I'm in with a chance of winning this time around as the competition is so high, but it's been a really great experience to be involved. They run these competitions every year and I have thought about entering it previously but the timing just wasn't right. Something new is brewing 👀

This is a piece I’m currently working on for Wraptious latest art competition. Competition Time!

Happy weekend everyone! 🎉 I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve reached a significant milestone of 500 followers here on good old Instagram. I know that may not seem like much compared to those big accounts with thousands of followers, but for me, that’s kind of a big deal.

As a thank you for those of you that have supported me this far, whether you’re a fellow artist, a small creative business, a friend from real life, or simply someone who likes what I do and enjoys following along, I’ve decided to run a special competition just for you.

The lucky winner will receive a mini original artwork on Legion Stonehenge paper.

Once I have selected a winner, I’ll be in touch to discuss your favourite pieces from my recent works. Those pieces won’t be available in the competition, but I’ll be happy to create something similar based on your preferences.

You’ll get to choose the paper colour from white, black, brown or one of the neutral colours from the ‘colors’ range. Then you can choose between a simple black and white design, mostly black and white with just a small pop of colour or something vibrant and full of colour.

Upping my eco-artist game today! ♻️♻️♻️ Finally making my own eco friendly acrylic paints with natural earth pigments and plants based acrylic medium from @naturalearthpaint . Not the easiest things to get hold of here in the UK, but there’s finally a few online sellers starting to pop up here and there. I initially got hold of the pigments in a set on Amazon by pure dumb luck, but since discovered @conscious_craft now sell the acrylic binder and a few other items. Recommended glass pallet, glass muller and pallet knife all from @jacksons_art For full transparency the packaging wasn’t completely plastic free on the glass items, but they are genuinely trying to improve where they can. And lastly (though so far I’ve just been using it for clean-ups in between) got myself a new Eco Union paintbrush from @plasticfreedom_ to try out. I’ve created a three part limited series of miniature abstract sunflowers inspired by events in Ukraine this year.

This third and final piece in this mini-series represents to me the rebirth of the future, where now lies destruction will once more bloom again fresh life, hope and joy. My hope for this painting is that it brings the viewer a sense of hope and joy even in the darkest of days.

Not only are sunflowers hugely significant to this country being their national flower, but they are also one of the most cheerful, optimistic looking flowers.

My hope for this collection is that these little pieces help lift the viewer up, giving a sense of optimism even in dark times.

I’ve been working on a limited series of miniature abstract sunflowers inspired by current events in Ukraine.

This particular piece for me initially represents the destruction of war, things and lives even being blown apart, uprooted and displaced. But then also a hope for a better tomorrow when the scattered seeds can eventually germinate to bring about new life, new hopes, dreams and beauty. Rising from the ashes like a phoenix.
