It’s amazing to know that we’re part of something so sad and yet so special (even if we wish we weren’t).

A physical memento like this just reminds me how real it all is and how even though Charlie isn’t here, his short existence is making an actual difference to actual people.

Maybe I’m thinking extra deep because it’s coming up to Charlie’s birthday and the memories always come back this time of year… but it’s got me thinking and feeling so unbelievably thankful for Leanne who founded the charity in memory of her own son James.

Leanne, not only did you create a physical way to feel connected with other bereaved parents but you’ve also given me and I’m sure so many others, a new purpose after all sense of purpose had been taken away, a direction in which to channel my grief and most significantly, a way to do something meaningful in my baby’s name and keep his memory alive.

So from the bottom of my heart thank YOU Aching Arms UK xx

Just a little appreciation post on for my boys who were both born prematurely:

My Rainbow Baby Jesse
Born at 31 weeks + 2 days
weighing 3Ib 10

And of course my Angel Baby Charlie
Born at exactly the same gestation and weighing 3Ib 14oz

Thinking of all the preemies today and feeling grateful for our NHS and all the amazing doctors, nurses and midwives working miracles at the Royal Surrey Maternity Unit SCBU and Neonatal Departments all over the country - doing everything they can to make sure our little ones make it home from the hospital safely ♥️

I know most people opt for high end precious metals when choosing their wedding rings but I stuck to silver because at the end of the day, it’s what they symbolise that means the most ♥️

International Women’s Day is about celebrating and recognising inspirational women.

Female empowerment is now at the forefront which, don’t get me wrong, is amazing…

But it’s also worth mentioning that we don’t all have to be extraordinary to be noteworthy.

We put enough pressure on ourselves without having to live up to the high standards we see in celebrity culture and on social media.

We are all worthy and deserving of acknowledgment regardless of our success or achievements.

So let’s not use this day to berate or compare ourselves to women who seem to have/do it all -

but instead to remember that we can inspire people simply by being who we are ♥️

So the plan was to launch some new and exciting pieces for Valentine’s Day but things have been a little hectic this end!

If you’ve noticed my absence from the gram, rest assured I’m alive and well… Just stressed and busy with preparations!

But the end is in sight and the wedding is next week so wish me luck and cross your fingers that I don’t trip over walking down the aisle!

This little guy would have turned 4 today ♥️

Charlie’s birthday is always a difficult day but this is the first year we’ve been able to mark it as a celebration and include his little brother (who now knows that Charlie is a big part of our family even though he lives in the sky).

Though we’ve spent this day in the past consumed with upset/anger (which are also completely valid feelings and a normal response to grief), I felt like Charlie wouldn’t want us to be sat at home again feeling like rubbish all day; so we bought a blue balloon, decorated a cake and went to our favourite restaurant for lunch, watched the same film we watched at the hospital that day and lit a candle at 7.50pm.

Of course we’re sad that he died but we’re also so grateful that he was born so today was about acknowledging his existence and keeping his memory alive in a positive way.

Thank you to the few who sent messages today and I’m thinking of everyone who’s a lost a loved one recently or long ago and also finds this time of year difficult ♥️

I recently had a wedding dress disaster and for a week I was stressing out constantly, couldn’t stop worrying about it, couldn’t think about anything else. But I talked it through with my bridesmaids, weighed up the options and made the slightly crazy (and ridiculously expensive) decision to abandon the dress and buy another one.

It was painful.

But at the end of the day, nobody died and it WAS figured out!
