Spiders, it's almost there!

We've been working super hard this week to put the final touches on all of the refurbished walls! All of the auto-belays are back in their original place, the new slab section is open, and we're finishing off the final bits of route setting today. By the end of tomorrow, it'll be completely finished and fully open to climb!

We'd like to say a HUGE thank you to all of you for being patient with us whilst we worked on this huge project, and we're super excited for you to get climbing on these walls 💥

EXCITING NEWS!

We are opening a whopping 9 lines on our brand new walls THIS EVENING 💥🥳

But that's not all! Alex and Jacob are setting their hearts out today, bringing you 4 new lines filled with brand new routes (lines 75 to 78), and we've got a great new feature route on line 2 for you to try as well!

Owen is also re-setting lines 79 and 81 tomorrow, whilst Alex gets to work setting the Traverse 🔨

The final touches are being done on the rest of the new build today, and we have a busy setting programme next week. If all goes well (🤞), we'll be opening the rest of the new walls by the end of next week! 🥳

We'll keep you updated on any developments as they happen - but for now, enjoy all of the new routes (and the new walls!)

The new walls are pretty much built, which means this process is about to get a whole lot more exciting!!!

Next week, the walls are being painted, and the week after that, the setting begins! 🥳

We're so excited to get these walls painted, set and ready to climb for you all, so hang in there for these last couple of weeks whilst we get those finishing touches up 👌

Spiders – get excited! 📣

You guessed it! We’re replacing the blue fiberglass wall with a new, modern one! Thats not all though, we’re also improving the auto-belay bay and abseil-station slabs! 🥳 We’re so excited for this project – we’re making improvements to 20% of the roped lines in the centre!

As with any big project, there will be some disruption to the centre whilst the works take place, but we’ve written an informative blog post giving you all the details:

Spider Climbing is looking for enthusiastic and reliable instructors who are looking for the flexibility of self-employed work. This role is varied, and the sessions you'll be coaching cover all ages and abilities.

If you:

🔵 Have your CWI/RCI/SPA qualification
🔵 Have a valid First Aid Certificate
🔵 Are enthusiastic to help others learn and progress their climbing
🔵 Have excellent time management & organisational skills
..we want to hear from you!

We're currently looking for instructors at both White Spider (Surbiton) and Blue Spider (Guildford) for predominantly evening and weekend work. Hourly rates begin at £17.50 after initial trial period.

This time, we're adding a bit of a twist. We'll be discounting everyone's LOWEST score from the final rankings after Round 5! This means if you miss a round, or didn't do so well in one of them - you don't have to worry. We'll only be counting the 4 highest scores before announcing the winners!

We'll still be doing raffle prizes each round too - but this time, the top scoring climbers from each category will also win some great prizes!
