Hey everyone, I hope you're all having a fantastic day! Today, I want to share some valuable tips on how to properly clean your paintbrushes after working with both gloss and matte paint. 🖌️✨

Cleaning your brushes is essential to prolong their lifespan and maintain the quality of your work. Here's how to do it right:

Materials You'll Need:
Old newspaper or a disposable drop cloth.
A container or bucket.
Paint thinner (for gloss paint).
Mild dish soap or brush cleaner (for matte paint).
A wire brush or comb.
Running water.
For Gloss Paint:
2. Start by Removing Excess Paint:

Scrape off as much gloss paint as possible from your brush using a putty knife or the edge of a paint can.
Use Paint Thinner:

Fill a container or bucket with enough paint thinner to cover the bristles.
Dip the brush into the thinner and gently swish it around.
Use a wire brush or comb to remove any remaining paint from the bristles.
Rinse and Repeat:

Rinse the brush with clean water.
If necessary, repeat the process until the brush is clean.
Finish by washing the brush with mild dish soap and warm water to remove any remaining thinner residue.
For Matte Paint:
5. Remove Excess Paint:

Wipe off as much matte paint as possible onto old newspaper or a disposable drop cloth.
Clean with Mild Soap:

Fill a container with warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap or a specialized brush cleaner.
Swirl the brush in the soapy water, gently massaging the bristles with your fingers.
Rinse the brush thoroughly under running water.
Final Rinse:

Rinse the brush once more with clean water until the water runs clear.
Dry Properly:

Shape the bristles with your fingers.
Hang the brush or lay it flat to air dry. Avoid standing brushes on their bristles as this can cause them to lose shape.
Remember, clean brushes not only make your job easier but also ensure a smoother finish in your next painting project. Taking care of your tools is a mark of a professional painter and decorator. 🎨🛠️
