I had a fun morning back at Primary School with the very enthusiastic Year 1 children. They produced some really imaginative designs for their dream home.

Year 1 had a visit from John Scaife from Box Valley Architectural Design. He presented lots of house designs and talked about architecture! The children designed their own houses for a design competition, and the winners all got a prize! 🏢

Box Valley Design are delighted to have secured planning permission for a new office building in Suffolk. The two storey office has been based on a modern agricultural building, fitting its farm setting. The design is sensitive to the character of the site and surrounding rural context in its form, scale and use of materials.
The simple form is split into 2 levels with the 1st floor sitting within the roof space. The floors create a variety of useful office spaces with lots of natural light. The floors are linked by an open plan staircase which acts as a light well.
Work on the technical design is underway and we look forward to seeing this project through to completion.

A small but nicely formed extension to open up the previously cramped kitchen. The extension is less than 10m2 and allows for a lovely, light, open plan kitchen / dining room. The external walls are rendered to link in with the walls of the landscaped rear garden.

The year 1 pupils at Hadleigh Community Primary School have been learning about houses. Box Valley Design held the annual
‘Architect of the Year Award’ at the school (via Zoom). I described the job of an architect and the teachers presented
a series of photos showing all different types of buildings.
The children then had to design their own house. We had some really imaginative & interesting designs from this talented year group including, eco homes, houses with slides, swimming pools and even a pirate ship!!
Congratulations Year 1 – HCPS 👏👏👏

A lovely project completed in Stratford St Mary by Box Valley Design. Lots of natural light to the kitchen/dining room.
The rooflights from The Rooflight Company work well, they sit flush externally and very little frame is visible internally. They require a bit more time in design and construction but are worth the extra effort.
The kitchen windows have been set low so that the worktop can push right up to the frame making it wider than usual.
Beautiful kitchen from Neptune
