Thursday night sees another busy match night at Warley Quinborne.
With the Birmingham A team taking on Mercia in the semi final of the Homer Trophy.
Whilst the B team welcome Walsall Kipping for a BDCL Division 2 match.
As usual we welcome new players, so pop along and don't be shy.
Matches start at 7pm
Today at The Stag And Three Horseshoes Warley Quinborne A host Telford A in a Wolverhampton Division 2 match. Whilst the C team travel to Walsall Kipping for a Birmingham Division 5 match. Both matches starting at 7pm.
There will of course be the usual friendly games going on.
If you're new to chess, or even a Grandmaster, pop along and meet our members for a friendly game.
February 1st sees Warley Quinborne hosting two home matches. The A team take on Oscott in a Birmingham division 2 match, whilst the C team face a tough match against table topping Rugeley in a Wolverhampton division 3 match.
There will also be friendly games going on tomorrow, so pop along and introduce yourself.
A much needed 2 points gained by the B team in Wolverhampton division 2 last night, with an emphatic 4-0 win away at Wolverhampton.
February 1st sees Warley Quinborne host 2 matches at The Stag And Three Horseshoes with a 7pm start.
With the A team welcoming Oscott in a Birmingham League division 2 match.
Whilst the Wolverhampton C team welcome Rugeley for a division 3 match.
The club will also be open for a few friendly games.
And finally as always we welcome any new members. So if you are a novice or a Grandmaster and fancy a game of chess and a laugh. Please pop along.
BDCL League starts for Warley Quinborne this week, a tasty little opening match will see the A team hosting the B team in Division 2.

Warley Quinborne start well in the U7400 BDCL Summer League with a 4 1/2 v 3 1/2 win over Mercia. Jon Turner was star of the evening with 2 wins.

Warley quinborne chess club meets every Thursday at the stag and three horseshoes Halesowen. From 7.30pm start.
Any level is welcome......but a couple of Grandmasters would be nice!!
Friendly members, friendly game of chess, and a pint if you're old enough.
We will even endeavour to get you playing competitive chess matches if that's what you want.
After a difficult week in the 4NCL Warley Quinborne bounced back in Arena A of the Team Blitz finishing in first place and promotion into next weeks contenders Group. Our 4 leading scorers this week were Patrick,Mik,Jon and Andy with some well supported performances by Steve and Martin.
The Week gets Better!!!!
After last nights narrow victory over Lewisham our 2 4NCL teams took to the field tonight. Both teams playing at our virtual home venue.
Warley Mighty Quins scored a narrow 2 1/2 v 1 1/2 victory against Nottingham University and sit near the top of their divisional group.
Warley and Quinborne efficiently despatched Herts 2 with a thumping 4-0 victory.
Well done everyone.
Tonight we made the virtual trip to Lewisham chess club for a 10 board friendly.......traffic was lightš¤£
An exciting match ensued going one way and then the other. In fact it went down to the wire with the narrow 5 1/2 v 4 1/2 victory making our virtual journey home a happy one.
A big thank you to our virtual hosts Lewisham for helping to provide an entertaining evening of chess, and I'm sure the rematch will follow.

Warley Quinborne v Lewisham
First night of the EBL blitz league begins tonight, with WQ clear underdogs in a very strong league.
Night 2 of the 4NCL proved to be a tough night for both teams, each suffering a narrow 2 1/2 v 1 1/2 Defeat.
Our first venture into the world of 4NCL as a club took place tonight.
Warley Mighty Quins played away at Crewe and made the long Journey back, avoiding police with a smile on their faces winning 3-1 on the night. well done all
Warley and Quinborne also played away but our board 1 must have been turned back by the police, default on board 1. Two battling draws and a victory were well earned but due to penalty on the default we lost the match.
Biscuit match No.2
We are getting closer ...losing 52 v 45 to Sutton Coldfield.
On a positive note Henrik was finally beaten last night......and the award goes to Martin Draper.
