Hats off to Cedar Court Hotel Huddersfield for the interior colour scheme of the hallways and bridal suits.

It’s usually the baine of a wedding photographers life trying to overcome the horrid lighting, design and colour schemes in the rooms etc but on my recent visit I’ve got to say it was a lovely pleasant surprise and made my life easier and the brides photos better

Over the past couple of years we have reigned back our services to allow time for fostering and other commitments and family.

Sadly the 1/11/24 will be our last wedding car hire.

To celebrate the past and say thanks, and to give couples the chance to meet up and swap stories or photos etc, we’re going to organise a party to be held at Pellon Social Club

Date to be arranged but probably Jan/Feb 2025 to get us all through the winter blues

I don’t know whether this is just some kind of rose tinted glasses idea, but would anyone be interested?

Great wedding. Rain came and went before the photos, groomsmen early, no wedding immediately before or after at the Register office so a great result.

So lovely meeting an excited couple last night to go through the plan for their big day this coming week.

Fingers crossed it stays dry.

But we will be prepared regardless, even if it’s snow (don’t laugh, it’s a possibility given our recent weather!!)

It’s lovely a few days after a wedding to then take a look through all of the photos and relive the day.
I often think it would be great to do this with the couple present so we’re all going through them for the first time together, to laugh, cry and discuss the day photo by photo.

To include any criticism too or reasoning as to the why and wherefores etc

However it’s not about me, sadly 🤣, it’s for the couple to go through for the first time in their own privacy, but sometimes it doesn’t stop me looking at the photos and wanting to instantly comment about it, which is fine, but it does make me look mad having a big smile on face talking with myself when I see a particularly cute or great photo or even groom crying etc 🤣🤣

I hadn’t planned to find and go through some wedding photos from a decade ago (2013) but I am glad I did.

A/. The bride is now happy as she contacted me to see if I possibly had originals from her 2013 wedding as a framed print had become damaged

B/. It was just lovely going through the photos and reliving that day from 10 years ago

Its lovely when shooting someone’s wedding results in becoming personal friends, and remain so for over 10 years

Last night we had round for a good catch up 4 of our previous wedding couples, with such a great night it’s a good job I wasn’t shooting a wedding today 🤣
