12th Hamilton Boys Brigade
Sure and Steadfast in Christ (just beside Hamilton Central Station)
The 12th Hamilton Boys Brigade provides a wide range of activities for boys aged between the ages of 5-18 and is based in Hamilton Baptist Church.
โWhen you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrows, we gave our todayโ ๐บ
Thank you to all the boys and their families who came to the Remembrance Service today. Special thanks to our Company section colour party.
John 15:13 - Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
What a great time tonight at our awards night, thank you to everyone who came to support the boys.
Thanks also to Fiona for sharing this photo that she took outside the church after our awards night ๐ A beautiful reminder of Godโs promise that the boys had just shared with us through their sharing of Noahโs story.
Have a great summer and looking forward to seeing you all back in September xx
Awards Night Tonight
At 7 oโclock
Hamilton Baptist Church
The Anchors learned about Daniel in the lionโs den tonight. We watched the Saddleback Kids video to introduce the Bible story then the boys showed how well they listened by chatting about how Daniel loved God, that the other men were unkind by making the King change the law so Daniel would get caught out and Daniel end up in the Lionโs den. The Anchors were all excited to learn that God protected Daniel. We played โDaniel dodgeballโ where the โangelโ had to protect Daniel from the lions. We finished our evening creating our own lions with the verse from Daniel 6:22 to remind us of Gods protection ๐ด๐ผ๐๐ผ๐ฆ
Thanks to the Company section lads for being a great help tonight.
Tonight the Anchors were busy learning about Anti-bullying week - using One Kind Word.
We shared the verse from Luke 6:31 โDo to others as you would have them do to youโ. We used apples to illustrate the effect using kind words and unkind words can have on someone.
The Anchors then shared how kindness can be giving and sharing with others as we learned about Children in Need - they decorated some yummy Pudsey biscuits ๐ก๐ด๐ข๐ต
The Anchors were learning about Remembrance Day tonight. We learned about the children who were evacuated during the war and also the sacrifice brave service men and woman make when they go to war. We also learned about the sacrifice Jesus made when he died for us.
โThe greatest love a person can show is to die for his friendsโ John 15:13

Week 3 the boys met Space Ranger Buzz. Almost any space toy you get will involve some kind of space ship. Itโs hard to get through space without a ship! This lesson was about one of the most famous ships in the Bible - the ark that God told Noah to build. The boys learned when they play, to remember it is God who they obey...just as Noah did.
We had a team STEM challenge to make our own space ships ๐
Week 2 we met cowboy Woody. He reminded the boys about David. David may have seemed like a cowboy showing up for duel at the OK Corral when he walked out to face Goliath, but David wasnโt trusting his aim, or any weapon to win this battle. David was trusting God. David reminds us that when we face a challenge or a tough choice, we should pray and ask God for his help.
This session the Anchors and Juniors have been following the Toy Box Bible. We have had a different โtoyโ each week and learned how it can remind us about God, about different people from the bible or about Christian values and behaviours.
Our first week we met Forkie...he gave us a โtasteโ of what was to come this session at BBs ๐
The Anchors and Juniors enjoyed some science experiments this week based on handwashing. We saw how easily germs can spread ๐ฆ then learned about how important it is to wash hands in warm water and soap ๐ฐ๐งผ
Looking forward to seeing updates on our take home projects (โ๐ผ๐)
