October book done βοΈ
After September's book was a completely different genre and required more effort than I like to exude when it comes to reading for a hobby! I decided to go back to my tried and tested and much loved author, Colleen Hoover, for a failsafe read.
It didn't disappoint, I knew it wouldn't, Colleen Hoovers' books never do. It was a page turner from the beginning; made up of heartbreak and second chances. Another unique masterpiece full of emotions and despite being an older novel from 2015, it definitely has not dated.
I would highlight recommended this for a beach read.
Reflecting on yesterday with slightly achy legs, but I am feeling proud of myself for achieving this with a questionable amount of training. I don't know where all the smiles were coming from!
Leeds Abbey Dash is one to consider for the runners out there and a great way to raise money for Age UK. It was a really well organised event.
September book βοΈ
Coming in a bit late after lots has been going on; a trip to Dubai and lots of quotes and holiday bookings to catch up with.
So what did I think about The List? Apparently, it was 'the book of the summer' according to Vogue. Well, according to The Travel Robin, I'm afraid it wasn't for me! I wanted to try a different style of writing, and it certainly was that. It was topical and clever with an interesting twist. However, I found it really hard to get into, and I had to work at it. I appreciate the need for descriptive writing, but in my opinion, it was overly descriptive, so much so, on many occasions, the descriptions made me forget what was being discussed in the first place! I couldn't describe it as a page turner at all. I struggled on and was glad I didn't give up, but on this occasion, I won't be recommending this as a holiday read!
August book done βοΈ
I absolutely π― loved this book. Amazing work Claire Daverley, thank you.
This love story gave me very strong One Day vibes, which I loved. I am a huge sucker for anything romantic. It was a real page turner; quick and easy to read but so lovely and hopeful as well. I spent my whole time willing the main characters to get together, I'm also a big fan of a happy ending.
I highly recommend this great fictional beach read to get your teeth into, but be warned, you will want to read it fast to see how it turns out, but also slowly to savour it.
July Holiday Read βοΈ
No One Saw a Thing was so really good book. I felt like I had to concentrate more than I normally would on a beach-read but it was worth it. This was because the story jumped from present day to past days. It was cleverly written by Andrea Mara because just as it was about to jump to a different time, the reader was left on a little cliffhanger, making you want to read more.
As always, no spoilers, but it is a thriller that keeps you on your toes, I mean, can you imagine losing a child on the underground!
June book βοΈ
This is a pleasant, easy read, great for the beach, and a bit of escapism. All about a couple pretending to still be together for the sake of their friends. It's set in their "Happy Place" where they all holiday together each year with lots of memories of years gone by.
It was recommended to me by the very helpful staff at Imagined Things Bookshop in Harrogate.
I haven't actually got my July book lined up, so if anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful.

Hamilton, have you seen it? Let me know below what you thought of it.
I loved it. What an amazing show, and it's set in the most beautiful theatre; Victoria Palace Theatre, London.
I highly recommend ππ»
May book βοΈ
I'll be honest, I started with The Man Who Died Twice to try something a bit different and not always plump for the same genre. But in all honesty, I just couldn't get into it and I wasn't enjoying it, despite it being a million copy bestseller. Maybe for others, but not for me.
The purpose of my resolution was to read more but also to enjoy it, so I gave up and started Everyone Here is Lying by Shari Lapena and I loved it. It was an easy read, a thriller, a page turner to find the next twist and turn whilst containing suspense and tension. No spoilers, but I think this would make a great beach read.

April book βοΈ
My lovely daughter gave me this for Mother's Day because she thought it sounded like something that would be right up my street. She was correct, and I loved it.
If you haven't read it, it is a contemporary novel looking at a complex but evolving relationship between two Irish teenagers. I love the love story, the friendship, how social class is addressed, and how the two teenagers find their personal identities.
Have you read it? Comment below what you thought.

March Reading Done βοΈ
I went for some real Chick-Lit this time. This book would make for a brilliant holiday/beach read. It Starts With Us by Colleen Hoover is a fantastic sequel to It Ends With Us. I would recommend reading them both in the correct order to really get the best experience and know the characters inside out.
I don't want to give anything away in terms of the storyline, but if you like getting to know your characters, romance and easy reading...then these books are for you and your next holiday.
DM me if you need any help booking your next holiday too π I can even recommend which books to take π [email protected]
We had the pleasure of having a birthday celebratory afternoon tea at Mama Doreens in Harrogate today. What a treat for a gaggle of tweens and teens.
I can highly recommend; the staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was delicious (with all dietary requirements catered for in a seamless manner) and the setting was pretty, elegant and inviting.
It was even a treat for the parents, as we sat sipping champagne and eating cakes whilst the party took place.
We tried the Ivy Asia in Leeds last night for a family celebration meal. I would highly recommend. The food was fantastic and the setting was very grand and opulent.

Wow, I've topped the magic 1000 followers. I started this page less than 2 years ago with zero followers and purely for personal travel.
I slowly started turning it into a business. I thought, what's the worst that could happen? I guess it would be that I would fail, and if I did, I'd just keep doing it for my own personal use.
I didn't actually think...what if it works?
Turns out, it did work. I set up a business with really low setup costs (Β£156) with minimal monthly running costs. I'd made my investment back on the first holiday I booked for our family. From then on, everything was profit.
Can you believe you can start your own online travel business for such a low amount? If you want to know more DM me [email protected]
Last night, I was hosted by at The Met Hotel in Leeds to learn all about Canada. What a wonderful evening, and what a lot of information on such a stunning country.
