Sweet pea appreciation…

When I was holding a post of sweet peas at this .and.linen.workshops and Sarah from spotted me, she was saying how beautiful they looked and wouldn’t it be dreamy to have a sweet pea bouquet? So that is what we did…

So simple and elegant and the smell of this was just amazing.

This is one of the reasons why I love a shoot. You get to collaborate with other suppliers, bounce ideas off each other and experiment!

Final touches…

That feeling of seeing a design come together and taking it in for a moment checking over everything. I’m so grateful I get to do this. I genuinely love what I do; every step of the process from design concept to final creation.

I still get such a buzz from the enquiries I get and I am so grateful to my couples for trusting in me to create their wedding florals. I can’t wait to see what the next few months brings in both my business and personal life. Lots of exciting things to come!

I can’t describe the feeling I get playing a small part in a couples wedding and seeing it all come together on the day. It then makes my day after the wedding when I get lovely feedback. To know that they loved it as much as I hoped makes everything worth it.

There are a lot of nerves leading up to and on a wedding day for suppliers as we all want the same thing - to give our clients everything they hoped for and more. So knowing you have done your job and they are happy is just the best feeling!

Bit of a surprise for me…

I was so overwhelmed to receive an email from last week saying that I had won ‘Best International Florist’ for the inaugural 2024 Loverly List.

This industry has some amazing creatives in it that I have looked up to for so long. To be sharing this space with lots of these suppliers is an honour. It has made my year!

Bridal bouquet thoughts…

One of my favourite things to make is a bridal bouquet. There’s so much thought that goes into it and for me it’s one of the things that I spend a lot of time thinking through.

I don’t tend to make a flower recipe for a bouquet. I think through the flowers that I want to have within the bouquet and have thoughts on focal flowers, flowers that add texture, movement but I don’t have a set number that I write down I will use for each flower. I like to have the flowers in front of me and let creativity flow.

I adore the way the bouquet is captured in these photos by the talented . I’ve got so much to share from this beautiful shoot, to be honest I’ve got too much choice and I don’t know what to share first 😅.

A botanical oasis…

Loved being a part of this shoot that was put together by Sarah and what a backdrop .

I love an opportunity to get involved in a shoot, let the creativity flow and do something I haven’t had the chance of doing yet. I loved creating this tablescape against the backdrop of the tropical palms. I was a little bit out of my comfort zone with the theme but this is what I loved about this one. I wanted to embrace Sarah’s brief and go to town with the organic, natural look on the tablescape. Dreamy brief with a dreamy team of suppliers:

I love any chance to be creative and I couldn’t turn down the moodboard that Sarah from sent over for this gorgeous shoot at .

The colour palette on the moodboard was whites, greens and burgundy. I wanted the bouquet to look a bit different and fit in with the botanical backdrop. I absolutely loved having creative freedom and making something a bit different to my normal bouquets.

There’s something so dreamy about having little meadows in front of the top table. I could stare at these playa blanca roses all day! Even better these meadows double up as aisle runners too. Always love thinking of ways of reusing flowers throughout your day.

Colourful summer bouquet…

I love the colours within this pastel summery bouquet. Filled with foxgloves, butterfly ranunculus, clematis, sweet peas, dahlias and roses. This was a fun bouquet with lots to look at in it!

Delicate bouquets…

There’s so many different styles that you could go for when thinking about your bridal bouquet. The possibilities are endless! For me its always nice to think about the style of the brides dress and the sort of bouquet that is going to compliment it.

I love this little dainty bouquet that I made on course captured by . I loved the challenge of having slightly less flowers to choose from. A bridal bouquet doesn’t always have to be filled with lots and lots of different varieties of flowers. Sometimes simple is just as effective!

Colour palette of your day…

When you think about your wedding flowers and the colour palette you would like, it’s always really nice to think about the rest of your wedding and how it all ties in. Tell your florist the colours of your bridesmaid dresses, the colours in your table decor such as table linen, candles, stationery. The colours and different tones that you can achieve within your colour palette through your wedding flowers can really bring everything together.

In my happy place…

Moody skies and showers while we were building this broken arch outside praying for the sun to shine for the ceremony.

Then just like magic, the sun shone ready for Z & Cs ceremony. British weather is definitely hit and miss but when the sun does shine, it feels really special.

The walk down the aisle…

The bridal bouquet is such a pleasure to make for so many reasons. One of my favourite moments is the guests seeing the bride walk down the aisle holding her bouquet of flowers. I love picking flowers that give off the most comforting gorgeous scent and compliment the brides dress.

I love that the bridal bouquet is around in some core parts of your wedding day - one being seeing your husband to be for the first time. Such magical moments!
