LionHeart are a charity that have supported members (and families) of the RICS for 125 years, as such our Chartered Surveyors Leslie, Daniel and Stefan are aiming to raise money for the charity through a combination of walking, cycling and running 125 miles in June. About last week.. Leslie organised Stefan and Daniel to have a tour of the roof of Lincoln Cathedral.. (honestly, she’s so proud it’s like she built it herself..) but it was incredible. It felt like the tour guide tailored his tour for us and the students of Nottingham Trent University studying building surveying (purely coincidence). Heard about the rod and concrete reinforcement within the building, removal of the tower spires, and the raking of the roof frame (once condemned)… oh it was right up our alley..

Well done Leslie for organising a great afternoon of networking, for a wonderful mix of local property professionals, with some lovely drinks and canapes in a local independent bar in the city centre of Lincoln. A few people couldn’t make it, Leslie’s gutted that she’ll have to see them for coffee and cake separately…

Today we welcomed the first schools to Elf Village for this weeks GREEN ELF SCHOOL experience… learning about the 3 R’s in a magical way with Father Christmas and the elves helping to save the planet. A delightful very important educational theatre adventure. Huge thanks to all involved in helping to bring this dream to life and also to all the schools and their amazing teachers and volunteers helping to brining them along 🙏

Due to the sad death of Her Majesty the Queen and the announcement that her funeral will take place on Monday 19th September, which is now to be a bank holiday, our office will be closed. As a regulated member of a Royal Institution, we feel it only right for us to close and pay our respects to Queen Elizabeth for all her years of unfaltering devotion and service. Any appointments that have been made for that day will be moved to the next availability to ensure our clients' needs are met. Our thoughts are with the Queen's family at this time.

Daniel is excited and nervous to be taking on the Great North Run on Sunday 11th September. A half marathon of 13.1 miles starting in Newcastle City Centre going over the Tyne Bridge and on to Gateshead, passing the Gateshead International Stadium and continuing on to the coast. The final stretch is then along the seafront.

This might be his toughest run so far but it is nothing compared to the challenge that many people face each day when they are living with a terminal illness. This is why we are raising money for the amazing St Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate. A remarkable place which provides support, not only to the patients, but their family, friends and carers. They provide a safe space, respite from care, and help all affected deal with the stresses at such a devastating time.

So please, if it’s only a few pence we would truly appreciate any support for this worthy cause…. and if you're in the area then please feel free to cheer him on!

Remember every donation helps to keep St Michael’s Hospice funded and able to carry on its great achievements and no one knows when they might need their help.

If Carlsberg did networking events.. thanks to Chris and Emma from Luscombe Gray for inviting (us on a sunny evening to a rooftop bar in Leeds) as their guests to an event with the Property Litigation Association.. great to meet some new faces surrounding a number of industry experts. Harrogate Beer Festival 2022 was fab! Thanks to all the supporters, sponsors and volunteers, next year we will do more than just turn up and drink (which we did this year). Great to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones! It’s on again today if you fancy going..

As we close on 2021 we’d like to say thank you to all the amazing local professionals that have supported us during our start, we are so lucky to work with so many fantastic people and organisations. We are back on the 4th of January and look forward to returning to work, and having a new office! Until then, chin chin..

Whilst we prepare for our January diets…we wanted to say that we are both incredibly proud and touched by the amount of recommendations we have received since we have started, but also sorry that, we are now having to book any further surveys into January. We completely understand the pressure any buyer is under, and though we wish we could help, we can’t compromise on the level of service we offer to our existing clients. But we will always endeavour to bring surveys forward in the event of any cancellations if we can.

And then there was three!! So Gill joined us in October, bringing with her a wonderful career in assisting and supporting a number of building surveyors and valuers in some of the most established practices in our area. So this weekend we had a lovely drink at the Sora Sky Bar to enjoy the York skyline and then a wonderful meal at The Star Inn The City to celebrate.
