IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING LIGHT VEHICLE TESTING
Today the Department for Transport announced that the 6-month MOT exemption for cars, vans and motorcycles introduced during the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak will end on 1 August 2020.

Quick turn around on this lovely vw golf this morning fitted turbo and out the doors before lunch!

Customer came in last week complaining of EML on the dash and lack of power, we plugged in to the vehicle and found fault codes for turbo/supercharger under boost.

We carried out a few more tests on this 3cylinder golf and found that the actuator was siezed on the wastegate side of the turbo

Fitted new turbo and test drove,vehicle drives like new again.

Following yesterday’s announcement that heavy vehicle testing has been suspended for all Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV), trailers and Public Service Vehicles (PSV) for up to three months due to COVID-19, we can provide the following information:
Your lorry, bus or trailer will be exempt from requiring an MOT for three months from 21 March 2020. In most cases your vehicle or trailer will automatically be issued a three month exemption. You will need to apply for an exemption if your vehicle is a public service vehicle (PSV) with an MOT that expires in March 2020; any vehicle that needs a first MOT (annual testing) before 31st March 2020; a vehicle or trailer return to service where the test certificate expired before March 2020; a vehicle needing a dangerous goods (ADR) test before 31 March 2020.
We will be in touch with customers that have a heavy goods test booked in the near future on Monday.
