We spent many hours this year on the dyno with the team, testing and fettling the engine and ecu, great results with hopefully more to come in 2024 .

Last weekend we were at Silverstone for the last 750 Motor club round of the year . Tim Harmer of Revelation Motorsport had entered into the highly competitive Bikesport class in his Revelation LF2R. The class is predominantly cars running modified Hayabusa engines, Tim is currently running one of our Suzuki GSX-R 1000 L7> engines and full electronics package .This is the 200bhp package at the moment but next year we hope to be running one of our 215bhp engines in the car ,we are not allowed to run our full power engines in this class because we are limited by the rules to 215bhp ! even against all the big Hayabusa engine cars .
Tim drove a remarkable race in the cars very first competitive outing, in what were very challenging conditions ,Tim showed what a fantastically competitive and cost effective package this is .

This is exactly the same engine on the same day with no other mapping adjustments except the variable intakes operating, works well .

235 bhp & 101 ft/lbs @ the tyre out of a tiny 70 kg engine.
So this is Suzuki GSX-R 1000 2017 > engine that has a1053cc , 2mm over bore, fully modified cnc head with cams and valve springs installed, controlled by an SBD Motorsport Ltd MBE 9A9 ecu with a complete Daytuner performance calibration .
This tiny monster engine makes all the big Hayabusa`s look like old dinosaurs . All the work carried out is to show what the right combinations of parts can produce and the potential of this power unit . Starting with the base unit giving 200 bhp, the 2017 > is already 30 bhp up on the 2007/8 engine . Then if you have seen my previous posts you can see the route you can take to get to this outright power output . And as a huge plus point while carrying out over 150 hrs of dyno work there been 100 % reliability ! As all the car racing guys will know weight is the enemy ,so you can have over 1600 HBusa power with at least a 25kg weight saving, what is not to like !
I have also been asked what the crank power of the engine is, If anybody knows me you will know that I hold no stead in the crank calculation, but as a direct comparison to the HBusa power figures that are constantly bandied around as 300 bhp for a 1700 🤣. I have attached the graph showing the calculated crank figures .

We are the only shop in the UK that can provide an off the shelf ecu package along with engine tuning options to run this engine , so if anyone is interested in pushing their car performance forward just drop me an email [email protected] .

Continuing on with our development of the GSX-R L7 > engine here is the latest update .After installing the big bore 1053 cc last week and getting it onto the dyno, this week it has been my target to try and get the trick cylinder head fitted . That has been achieved and the results are really looking impressive , 225 bhp measured at the wheel on a hot day in the dyno .
The camshafts are still stock and it is still running on super unleaded pump fuel so if there may be more in it with a splash of race fuel .

All this work is to show you guys the potential of this fantastic power unit and the SBD Motorsport Ltd MBE 9A9 ecu . As a stock engine it already produces more power than a fully tuned Suzuki GSX-R 1070 K7/K8 and now its heading in 1600 cc HBusa power territory ,hopefully next week I will get the cam kit installed and lets see where its get to .

Here is the latest update on our Suzuki GSX-R 1000 L7 > engine development .
BIG BORE !!
So its now 2mm over size which makes it into 1053 cc ,and the dyno graph attached is the first run after breaking the engine in on the dyno .
This is just a big bore , the head is completely stock and the camshafts are also stock , what a difference !
212 bhp and 93 ft/lbs torque at the tyre this not a crank shaft measurement this is wheel power .
And this isn't the final product ,I have ready to go onto it a cnc modified cylinder head and a full cam kit ,should be interesting .
