Don’t miss this year’s Countryside Arena programme! With everything from gundogs, ferret demonstrations, to fly casting and the ever-popular Walworth Birds of Prey 🦅 The new Countryside Voices tent hosts a series of talks and discussions on rural issues with a host of top-class speakers. GYS Farm to Fashion Shows will take place on the Sheep Shearing Stage: Tuesday - Thurs at 12pm & 4.30pm and on Friday at 12pm & 3pm ⭐️

Celebrating 21 years of the Cheese and Dairy Show! Set up in 2002 to help boost the cheese and dairy industry, now with 90 classes including traditional cheese, ice cream, yoghurt, butter and milk. Who caught our annual Cheese Auction raising funds for Herriot Hospice Homecare with Matt Baker MBE yesterday?

Fabulous first day!
Fabulous first day of the 164th Great Yorkshire Show! The Cheese and Dairy Show judging took place, we saw some of the best animals in the country all competing for a title, and enjoyed our first Great Yorkshire Fashion Show of the year with our amazing farmer models! See you all again tomorrow 🤩

Grest Yorkshire Show day one is coming to close! And what a day it’s been 🤩 tell us what your favourite part of the day was?

As part of the Yorkshire Agricultural society's ongoing mission to promote food production and the outdoors, our annual School Veg Box Competition culminates with a grand finale at the Great Yorkshire Show. We will reveal the competition's overall winner during a presentation ceremony in the neighbouring Garden Show on 'Wednesday at 1pm. The children keep colourful diaries to record what they have learned each week, showing how their vegetables progress and how they achieve the final result. All the diaries and boxes are then put through a preliminary judging round in June. The finalists' boxes are then brought to the Showground ready for the grand final and are displayed in the Discovery Zon School Garden. After the winners have been announce and the shield presented, the boxes are returned to the schools so pupils can continue with their growing projects throughout the year.
