Wow! A major milestone for the Great Yorkshire Show as visitors raise £50,000 for a host of charitable causes in just over a decade!
The milestone has been reached following this summer’s Show, where the annual cheese auction raised a magnificent £8,530 for the RABI, a charity which works tirelessly to support farming people through practical, financial and emotional assistance.
The dates for next year’s Great Yorkshire Show are Tuesday 8 July to Friday 11 July 2025 and tickets will go on sale in November 2024 https://greatyorkshireshow.co.uk/

Today saw the final day as Show Director for Charles Mills after nine years, as the 165th Great Yorkshire Show came to a close.
Action continued throughout the day in the show rings while a marriage proposal took centre stage at the finals of the pole climbing competitions.
The day rounded off with Charles handing over to new Show Director Rachel Coates before YAS President Martin C**kerill handed over to Geoff Brown MBE.
“This has been a wonderful nine years, it has been a pleasure to be the Show Director of the Great Yorkshire Show and my highlight has to be the people. I have so enjoyed working with the team and meeting so many amazing people during my time here. I feel very grateful and very proud and I wish Rachel every success with the role.” Charles Mills, Show Director, 2016 - 2024

Supreme Champions and the hugely popular Ripon Select Foods C**k O’ the North showjumping took centre stage at the Great Yorkshire Show today as the very best animals were awarded.
There were visits from The Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, David Skaith, and Robbie Moore MP for Keighley and Ilkley. Peter Wright of Channel 5’s The Yorkshire Vet was a special guest on the Vertu Motors GYS Stage and in the Garden Show.
Competition was fierce in the show rings, with cattle, sheep, pigs and horses all challenging for the titles of Supreme Champion in their sections. This year also saw the return of the poultry classes and the Supreme Champion title went to a Blue Leghorn bantam.
The show’s top showjumping class, the Ripon Select Foods C**k O’ the North, gave the packed Main Ring its usual nail-biting finish with a win for local hero, Richard Howley from Wetherby with HK Horses’ Zodiac Du Buisson Z with treble clears. Richard also took the title in 2019.
See you all tomorrow! 🎉

As a result of reduced parking spaces in the Members' car parks off Rudding Lane these areas are now full and Members will be redirected to other areas with available spaces.
Thank you for your understanding.
Visitors are currently experiencing delays entering the car parks off Rudding Lane opposite Rudding Park as a result of the current ground conditions driving down the hill towards the Showground.
This has been reduced to a single track and the going is extremely slow. Whilst our stewards are working hard to park visitors, the weather earlier in the week and overnight rain have impacted this area.
If alternative parking areas become available you will be directed to them.
Please bear with us we are attempting to get you to the Show as quickly as possible in difficult conditions.

New Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Steve Reed OBE MP and Farming Minister Daniel Zeichner made their first visit as part of the new Government after last week’s election.
Adam Henson took to the cattle rings before heading for the chat show on the Vertu Motors GYS Stage and seeing the sheepdog trials, while Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz also made an appearance as well as farming influencer Joe Seels
The School Veg Box competition, which annually challenges primary schools across Yorkshire to grow British produce from scratch, was won by White Laith Primary School of Whinmoor, Leeds, with its bright colourful designs and rain harvesting systems for this year’s Bee theme.
See you all tomorrow for day three! 🎉
We are currently experiencing delays on Wetherby Road due to a broken down horsebox and on Rudding Lane to the bypass due to the volume of traffic. This is currently preventing vehicles exiting the Brown car park which our traffic management team is working hard to rectify.
