As most of you will know, we lost our irreplaceable 'Farmer Dave' to a glioblastoma brain tumour last June. Our farmhouse, holiday cottages and campsite are now on the market and we hope that whoever takes it over will carry on what David and I worked so hard to create - the little piece of heaven that we enjoyed sharing with you all for the last 14 years. The farmland will continue to be farmed by the Umpleby family.

I want to personally reassure our future guests at The Cud Life that we would only take bookings if we could fulfill them and will only open up new dates if we are 100% sure we can honour the bookings. We are currently taking bookings to the end of November and will keep you updated if and when this changes.

I have learnt that life is very short, time is very precious and memories are what really matter! Your memories made here at The Cud Life are priceless. So, in my search for positivity, please share your happy stories, lovely pictures and wonderful memories on this feed until we have more news to share with you ❤️

We have just had a last minute cancellation for a motorhome this weekend. The sun is shining and you could be looking at this view topping up your tan with a cold beer and a Voakes Pies pork pie!!

Our guests at The Cud Life were treated to one of the most amazing rainbows we'd ever seen tonight. Although these pictures taken by Nicola Holland are amazing, the colours and definition in real life were absolutely incredible! 🌈

Do we need to add Northern Lights spotting to our list of things to see and do at The Cud Life, Harrogate. Sadly we missed this but some of our lovely guests didn't and sent us their pictures.

We got a 'Superhost' award again with Airbnb! Basically it is for 5 star reviews as far as we can gather, nonetheless its nice to be 'super' at something :-)

You will all be pleased to know that I will be purchasing some extra large, shiny, red, superhero pants to go over Marks trousers!! What a treat for you all! ;-)

We have just had a Ring Doorbell fitted for campsite arrivals when we are busy elsewhere at The Cud Life, so we can welcome guests sooner. We knew it would also provide additional security so we can see everyone who drives up and down our lane but what we hadn't anticipated was seeing the beautiful sunrises from a new angle ❤

Oh and we also think Ring should use Beyonce's words on their adverts 'If you like it you should put a ring on it!' 😄 🤣 😂 😆

It's not taken my brother Mark long. He's gone from helping us out, cutting the grass, great reviews, happy campers, a bit of hedge cutting......now he's the bloomin OWNER! 😄

Nice to see The Cud Life is second on the 7 best campsites in The Yorkshre Dales but its a shame noone checked the details as we are no longer a certified site with the Camping and Caravanning Club. We are now fully independent and although nothing has changed in terms of our small, friendly peaceful campsite, it means we can take a different ratio of caravans and motorhomes to tents which will help us particularly in the winter when we used to be limited to 5 caravans and motorhomes.

After telling everyone how wonderful our friend Annie is on our Cooking Fantastic page, we thought it was only right to say something about my brother Mark who is now running The Cud Life campsite - apart from emails or anything to do with computers! We really can't thank him enough for keeping everything running smoothly here since 'two became one' and he is doing so well we wouldn't change a thing..... well maybe a little less flesh on show, a little less volume and not going around the campsite telling them all I was making a few scones on Saturday for regulars and getting me an extra 37 scones to make!! Seriously though Mark you have been a star thank you

This picture on a camping group made us laugh after having a self confessed snorer staying at The Cud Life who asked to be pitched out of the way because he snores and he wanted to consider other guests! 😄 🤣

Maybe we should get a bag of complimentary earplugs for guests although personally we never camp without earplugs and the only thing likely to wake you up here is birds tweeting! 🐦 www.thecudlife.co.uk

WHOOPS! We have quite a challenging health situation at the moment and someone (me!) forgot to open up the dates of a whole campsite hire cancellation on our calendar that we received back in February for The Cud Life campsite!! Whoops indeed!!

Thanks to all our lovely guests from The Cud Life including all that are staying in both cottages and on the campsite currently. It's been a challenging run up to this Chrismtas and we have ended it very quietly (thanks to covid!).
