***Positive Parent Feedback!***
Always so nice to read emails and messages from our parents, interns and mentors.
This is why we do what we do!!
"I can never begin to thank Natalie and yourself for everything you have both done for Robert. He has gone from a teenager with very little self confidence. To a genuine honest and reliable gentleman who has taken his job roles so seriously and quite honestly I believe has flown with it. The difference in Robert has quite honestly blown me away! The feedback I have had from people that have seen him in his workplace, people he wouldn't know has been immense. I never ever thought I would see the day that he could work independently but look at him go!
Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!
Love Rhian xx"

Angela said โI just want to praise a member of your team. A young man called Craig was cleaning in the Ultrasound department one evening; he did a brilliant job and was also very polite. He never stopped the whole time he was in the department.โ
Well done Craig! ๐

It's National Supported Internship Day!
One of our most exciting recent placement partnerships is with Asda - here we have our NHS England Choices College Hartlepool interns with one of the Asda porter staff, Ray.
Ray tells us, he has felt supported by Choices College during his first experience of being a student mentor and how his intern has really become a part of the porter team and already being a great help to them
Given the correct support and guidance, our interns can become a vital member of the workforce. We are really grateful to Ray and the rest of the team at Asda Peterlee for giving our intern such a fantastic experience

It's National Supported Internship Day!
At Barnard Grove Primary School in Hartlepool, their strapline โSTARS IN THE MAKINGโ shares our college belief that young people can all be the best they want to be.
To demonstrate this, providing a work experience placement to our intern within school sends a clear message to all pupils that they should be ambitious about their future careers. Additionally we hope seeing our intern supported to progress in their placement inspires other children with in the school community.
Supported Internships have a transformative effect on the interns who take part. They offer real work experience combined with training in employability and independent living skills delivered in a business setting to help young people make successful transitions to productive adult life
If you would be interested in offering a young person a work experience placement opportunity, please contact [email protected]
Wow! What a fantastic turn out for our internsโ first mock interview!
Over the past couple of weeks, they have been preparing for interviews, learning about appropriate clothing, how to give a good first impression, types of questions they may be asked and relative questions they could be asking.
Today, all interns made a massive effort to look their very best. Each intern showed a huge amount of bravery presenting themselves in front of someone they had never met before. They did themselves and us very proud!
We will now work together to reflect on these interviews and support them to develop fuller and more structured answers, and increase their confidence ready for their second mock interview after Easter.
Well done everyone! ๐๐ฝ ๐
