Hartlepool Headland Parish Council

Hartlepool Headland Parish Council

The Headland Parish Council serves the community of the Headland in Hartlepool.

03/07/2024

A name plate has been purposely removed from Red Heugh Gardens so that the name of a local soldier from WWI can be added.

We look forward to seeing the soldier remembered correctly as he always should have been.

29/06/2024

We are now aware of a decision taken by Hartlepool Borough Council to stop providing lifeguard cover on the Fish Sands and Block Sands and are working as a Parish Council with Borough Councillors to hopefully have this decision reversed as we view the safety on our beaches as a top priority for the people of the Headland.

At this stage there has been no indication that this will stop the paddling pool being filled during the summer but appreciate that the refusal to fill it earlier in the past due to no lifeguard cover seems somewhat of a contradiction now.

If you would like to voice your concerns and support the move to have this service reinstated you can email [email protected] and ask for your email to be forwarded to all Borough Councillors.
Please be respectful in any correspondence.

Weโ€™ll keep you updated.

Conservation Area Management Plan: Headland | Your Say Our Future 30/04/2024

We would like to thank everyone who attended our meeting last night and also to Sarah Scarr from Hartlepool Borough Council, who came along to update us on the Headland Conservation Management Plan consultation and to answer councillors' and residents' questions.
As a Parish Council, we sincerely hope that residents' views are taken into consideration when making the final recommendations and guidelines.
Based on what we discussed last night, we would like to state the following:
1. We support the use of modern materials when used in a sympathetic way that enhances character.
2. We support the positive steps to improve public spaces, shopping parades and encouraging more visitors onto the Headland.
For those who have not filled out the survey with their views, we urge you to do this today. 24 responses have been received as of last night, and the survey closes tomorrow. Sarah assured us in the meeting, that she would accept paper copies, 7 days after the online closure to allow for post.
Thank you.

COPA (Cleveland Online Policing App) - Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner 05/02/2024

We have heard good feedback from people using the COPA app to report antisocial behaviour and crimes on the Headland.

It's free to download and very useful.

Cleveland Online Policing App (COPA) is a new way to get in touch with Cleveland Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Members of the public can download the app to their mobile phones. The app allows them to feed in information about policing and community safety issues easily and quickly. It also lets them ask questions and give feedback.

What does COPA do?
COPA lets the public:

Ask members of the OPCC for advice on questions around policing, crime and community safety.

Share concerns about nuisance behaviour which helps the PCC, police and other agencies find solutions aimed at making the community feel safer.

Give feedback on their experience with Cleveland Police. This may take the form of a complaint or pass on thanks to officers and staff, who have done a brilliant job.

Access links to websites with helpful information about victim support services and crime prevention quickly and easily so they can get the help they need fast.

Report crime anonymously by giving a quick link to the CrimeStoppers website.

Get help fast by providing a direct telephone link to Cleveland Police via 999 in an emergency.
In less urgent cases, members of the public can click straight through from the app to Cleveland Policeโ€™s online reporting form to report a crime.
