Following Martin Luther King, Jr.’s day on Monday, I’ve been thinking a lot about activism and standing for what we believe in. Dr. King is widely regarded as America’s pre-eminent advocate of nonviolence and one of the greatest nonviolent leaders in world history. Just like Dr. King, we can stand for a cause we believe in without letting the pain of injustice consume us. What we focus on, we give energy to. If we focus on the pain, that is what we feed. But if we focus on the healing of the injustice, perhaps then we can make a difference.
