Job Role
We support vulnerable adults to achieve independence with every-day living tasks in a supported living environment. We really do pride ourselves on high quality support and person-cantered with the care we provide. Individuals are fully supported within the spacious setting at home and the wider community to ensure best possible active and joyful lives. Our support staff promote a ‘can do’ approach to new ideas, achieving fun filled and varied activities.

We are very big on supporting our residents with Life Skills; this can include supporting with meal prep and cooking, laundry, money management and lots more! We like to make sure the people we support are fully involved with everything and helping them become as independent as possible! The job is varied, no two days really are the same! The people we support are individuals and they all deserve to be treated as such. To be responsible and accountable for providing the highest standards of nursing and personal support, while promoting independence and choice, to the people we support. Directly lead and supervise a team of support staff as required at the respective service, ensure the smooth and efficient management of the respective shift by assessing, prioritising, planning, delegating and monitoring work activities of the support team.

To ensure that all safeguarding responsibilities are implemented in line with our organisations safeguarding and whistleblowing policies and procedures.

So far this year CQC have carried out two inspections of our services under their new Single Assessment Framework. We are incredibly proud that both services inspected Myrtle Cottage and most recently Beachview have received GOOD ratings in all areas.

This is a fantastic result and demonstrates the dedication of the teams and the person centered approaches being put into practice for the people we support.

Congratulations to both teams, a very well deserved outcome.

We also want to remind our staff that we offer a range of support for anyone who may require assistance. Our Mental Health First Aiders and counsellors through our Employee Assistance Programme are available to help. If you need guidance on seeking help, please reach out to your manager or head office. We know that January is a particularly hard month for many reasons. If you are struggling and need some help please take that first step and reach out to someone, it will always be good to talk.

We are pleased to introduce Charlotte as our new Bosham Service Manager and look forward to welcoming her as part of the team. Charlotte has provided us with a little bit of information surrounding her background. "I started my career in health and social care as a support worker in 2015, I soon realised that supporting vulnerable individuals was a passion of mine. Within a year at a previous company, I was promoted to a lead support worker and then to deputy manager, I was also able to gain a level 5 NVQ in leadership and management. I have since worked as an assistant manager in two other services before joining Dolphin as a service manager, I am grateful for the opportunity and feel welcomed and supported into the company. I hope to work well in my service to ensure the individuals we support are living fulfilled lives."

It's with great pleasure that we introduce Steve as our newly appointed Liss Service Manager. His presence is a valuable addition to our team and we are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to work closely with him in his new role. Steve has provided us with some background information.
"Over the course of my 13-year career, I have immersed myself in the challenging yet rewarding field of care, specializing in supporting individuals with challenging behaviours , physical and learning disabilities. While my initial entry into this profession was unexpected, I quickly discovered my passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Beginning as a support worker, I embraced the responsibilities and complexities of the role, learning firsthand the diverse attributes required for effective caregiving. Driven by a deep-seated passion, I navigated the challenges and opportunities presented by this field, and it became evident from the very first day that I had found my calling.
Throughout my journey, I have continuously expanded my skills and knowledge, steadily progressing in my career. This dedication and perseverance have led me to a position where I am now poised to embark on a new adventure as part of Dolphin Homes. As I transition into this role, I bring not only a wealth of experience but also a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the well-being of those in need.
Outside of my professional life, I find joy and relaxation in spending quality time with my partner and our four children. Our shared love for horror films has become a cherished pastime, offering a balance to the demands of my career and allowing me to recharge for the challenges and successes that lie ahead.
Looking forward, I am excited about the prospect of contributing my skills and passion to Dolphin Homes, confident that this new chapter will be marked by continued growth and the fulfilment of my commitment to providing exceptional care for individuals with diverse needs."
