This week we will be closed on Tuesday 9th and Friday 12th. Other days remain as normal 💫

I have long since given up setting the agenda for the Monday meeting realising, they seldom cover work related issues anymore. Instead, they seem to be an opportunity for Bear to give me a general dressing down and let me know about all his grievances. This Monday was no exception, and we were at peak grievance.

Item 1 and 2 combined. Your weekend shenanigans and my supervision of both the shop and the grandparents.

I had a feeling that one of these points were going to be raised and I should have been prepared, but there is something about Bear’s puppy dog eyes coupled with his steely stare that strikes fear into even the hardiest shopkeeper. ‘It was just the day Baby Bear, and we were choosing Big Sister’s wedding dress. Unfortunately, dogs...uh...I mean real boys who are fluffy looking were not allowed’.
‘Do you know what they used to call me in the rag trade’ barked Bear?
‘I wasn’t aware you were known in the rag trade my gorgeous boy’.
Bear crossed and uncrossed his bodacious paws, and said slowly, ’sometimes I think you haven’t properly read my memoirs at all. Anyway, in the rag trade I was known as Cockapoo Chanel. I dread to think what you have all picked out without my expert guidance’.
‘I think you will be quite pleased actually Bear’.
‘I will be the judge of that’ he retorted while adjusting his cravat, ‘now part 2 of Item 1.
While you amateurs were off doing a professional’s job I was left here to look after both the shop and the grandparents’ I realised I was probably heading for some dangerous waters so I thought that maybe it would be best to placate him. ‘I hear you did a very good job under extremely trying circumstances. You managed the power cut very well and ensured that Grandad was comfortable throughout the day’.
‘Yes, I was a very good boy, the best boy in fact, but I’m not taking them for a walk again, I think they can manage that by themselves’.
‘Very well Baby Bear, whatever you wish.
Any other belly rubs?
‘Yes, Mama. Until I say stop’.
