Mooches For Pooches

Mooches for Pooches is a service providing home boarding, dog walking and home visits for pets. I have an up-to-date DBS and insurance.

For many years I have cared for people of different ages and abilities. I have now decided to combine this with my love of animals to care for pets within my local community. I am an experienced owner of dogs with complex needs, including age related problems, requiring regular medication. The services I am offering include;

Neave borrowed our (unofficial) emotional support dog to keep her company on the way to the surgery for her to have her flu jab, then they walked to school together. Neave is very proud that she can walk her by herself, they really are best friends!
The rest of today's dogs all enjoyed plenty of sniffing, especially in the leaves, and lots of cuddles (I enjoyed the cuddles too!) X

It's been a day full of lots of walks and visits. It was a bit of a damp, miserable day but these pups didn't let that stop them from enjoying themselves! X

We have had these lovely boys to stay again, they are the easiest house guests, they settle straight in and fit in with our family life perfectly. They have enjoyed their walks, time in the garden and visits from Charlotte and the children, not to mention plenty of rest and relaxation too! We will see you again soon, I think James is counting the days!!! X

It has been a bit of a quieter week with it being half term, it still seemed pretty busy though! We have really enjoyed our walks and visits in the lovely autumnal weather, you can't beat walking through dry, crunchy leaves! πŸ‚πŸ x

A day in the life of a Mooches For Pooches apprentice...
One of the first lessons learnt by an apprentice is to always carry snacks. It may seem like the work of a dog walker/sitter is all fun but it is actually hard work too with no real breaks and lots of calories being burnt off. So Neave started her day off by packing her lunch box with crisps, cake, chocolates, biscuits and lollipops. The second lesson is to keep the lunch box away from the dogs, believe me, Neave will protect her snacks no matter what!!!
The next lesson is to get involved with the dogs, if the dog wants to paddle then you're going in too! Leading on to the next lesson, be prepared! Neave was appropriately dressed with her lovely new wellies (also notice she is dressed for the season with her Halloween jumper!)
The next lesson is to show those dogs you love them! Neave is very good at doing this, she is a natural with the dogs and loves to chat to them and give them lots of fuss and attention...and they love her too!
Unfortunately, it would appear that Neave was taking note of the budget yesterday as she seems very aware of the upcoming pay rise for apprentices. Her wage more than doubled today from a pack of gingerbread men from Thomas the Bakers to an ice cream from Hunter's!!!!!!!!! X

It's been a very autumny day (I'm sure that's a word!). We've had some great walks among the falling leaves, the colours outside at the moment are just beautiful πŸƒπŸ‚πŸπŸƒπŸ‚πŸπŸƒπŸ‚πŸ x

We have thoroughly enjoyed having this little chap to stay for a couple of days. He is very playful with loads of energy and we've had a lot of fun with him. He has loved spending time with Thomas, Neave and Alfie but his favourite person was definitely James! He has had a busy time with us including taking James to the barbers, walking with Charlotte's dog, Ozzie and having breakfast at Beadlam Grange Farmshop! We hope to see you again soon, especially James! X

While at Beadlam Grange Farmshop for breakfast with our current boarder this morning, we got chatting to Ian from Dogs Trust and we decided to sponsor a dog on behalf of Mooches For Pooches. In actual fact, we didn't just sponsor one dog, we chose to support the Oakfield Oldies which is a special bungalow dedicated to the older dogs where they can live in a home environment rather than in kennels. A very worthwhile cause to help those dogs who are not as fortunate as the doggies we look after x

We have had a very special little lady staying with us this week, she settled straight in and was an absolute pleasure to look after. Neave in particular has loved having her friend to stay, she likes that she can "walk her by herself," I think they both enjoyed their walks! She also had a really nice walk with Charlotte's puppy Ozzie who has now made friends with lots of the dogs we look after. We'll miss having this girl around but I'll see her on Monday for her regular walk x
