That's why we're proud to have partnered with GriefChat.
A free service, GriefChat offers the opportunity to speak directly to a specially trained bereavement counsellor who will listen to your story, explore how your grief is affecting you and help you find any additional support you might need.

Our sister company, Neville Special Projects Ltd, is a proud corporate partner of Luton Town Football Club which means the team have a chance to win two tickets a month!
This last month, Kelly, the team's Office and Best Practice Manager, won the tickets which meant she got to take her son at the weekend...
"I took my son, Josh, to the game with me as he is a Luton fan. We had a great afternoon although the result didnโt go the way we wanted it to. The atmosphere was brilliant, I can see why other teams donโt enjoy playing at Kenilworth Road!"
Congratulations Kelly, looks like you had a great time๐
We're proud supporters of Pace4Life again this year as we were delighted to have collected a significant number of pacemakers to be donated in 2023 and we hope to continue that into 2024.

Today is the last day of National Apprenticeship Week, where we have been celebrating our wonderful apprentices and the work they contribute to our business.
We'd like to spotlight our brilliant female trainee, Tyla, who chose to take up a role in Embalming. Tyla said: "One of the parts of the job is having the ability to help families say goodbye to their loved ones with dignity, guiding them through the process and taking care of the deceased."
Tyla's advice to young females exploring apprenticeships and trainee positions would be to "explore everything, applying for anything that interests you - even if it gets you out of your comfort zone!"
Very wise, inspiring words from Tyla.

This Thank you Thursday, we'd like to shout out our latest apprentices who have worked hard to embed themselves within the business.
Tyla chose the trainee embalmer role as she wanted hands-on experience in her chosen field.
"One of the best parts of this job is having the ability to help families say goodbye to their loved ones with dignity, making the process easier for them and guiding them through. Since I've started, I've learned the importance of empathy and how meaningful it is to connect and put myself in a position to feel how others do."
Thank you to Tyla and our other trainees and apprentices - the whole team is impressed by your dedication and hard work so far.
In light of National Apprenticeship Week, we would like to introduce our Trainee Memorial Mason, Kiera, and provide an insight into her experience so far.
Like many, Keira decided that the traditional school environment wasn't for her and instead decided to take on a 'Learn-on-the-Job' based role.
"I believed I could learn more by choosing these roles and this is why I applied to train as a Memorial Mason at Neville Funerals. The results have been great so far and I have learned so much about material types, fitting stones properly, and the intricacies involved with the work."
Kiera has made great progress since starting her role and we're excited to see her developing her skills even further in the future. Congratulations, Kiera.
This week, we're proud to be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2024. This is the 17th annual celebration of Apprenticeships, and marks an opportunity for us to recognise the values, benefits and opportunities that they bring to individuals, businesses and communities across the UK.
We're passionate about inspiring and training the next generation of workers, and are pleased to offer a comprehensive Apprenticeship programme across a variety of roles and businesses, with continual support and mentoring throughout... and we have been doing so since our first apprentice was hired in 1881.
Keep an eye on our social channels this week to find out more and meet some of the wonderful apprentices, who contribute to the daily running of our businesses.

Today marks Parent Mental Health Day, a day focused on raising awareness for the mental health and wellbeing of parents and carers. This year's theme is โCreating Positive Relationshipsโ.
Here at Neville Funerals, we feel it is important that the welfare of our customers is supported throughout the funeral process and in some instances these individuals are parents.
In the year ending March 2023, it was found a total of 3,743 children (aged between 0-17 years) passed away in England. This statistic helps to show the importance of grief support and the need for mental health guidance for bereaved parents.
We run grief support groups within our communities to do our part to support those suffering the loss of a loved one. Our Talking Elephants sessions create a safe and supportive environment for individuals to talk about their thoughts and feelings of grief with individuals in similar situations.

We're delighted to announce that one of our Charities of the Year for 2024 is.... Autism Bedfordshire๐
With local teams across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, we feel this local charity is the perfect fit for our 2024 charity focus!
This amazing organisation offers services that help break down the barriers to social participation for those with autism, providing safe environments where individuals and their families can feel supported and accepted.
The team of specialist staff recognise the physical and emotional stress of looking after an autistic person which is why they provide a place where families can go for practical advice, information or emotional support so they feel better equipped.
Our other Charity of the Year for 2024 includes the Lighthouse Club - a construction industry charity. Stay tuned for more info on this amazing charity.
We have lots of fundraising plans for the coming year so keep in touch but if you would like to read more about this worthy charity and how you could get involved and show your support, click here: https://pulse.ly/dwkef5977o

The Centre for Ageing Better is launching a new, nationwide campaign to tackle ageism and change the way we all think about ageing ๐
The countryโs first public-facing campaign is focused on altering the way we all think about ageing. Evidence has found ageism can be detrimental to us all as we grow older, impacting livelihoods, mental health and wellbeing plus individuals' productivity.
Research conducted by the Centre for Ageing Better has found that over half of people aged over 50 in England have experienced ageism in the last year!
As an Age Friendly Employer, we recognise the importance of supporting staff at all ages, to ensure a positive and harmonious workforce.

We have the most amazing, specialist and dedicated teams at Neville Funerals. Our talented florist team is just one of them. The love and care which they invest in producing absolutely stunning, and often bespoke and very personal floral tributes, is hugely appreciated by our clients.
And often they will advise clients on flower choices that befits the season and the ceremony.
Sue Evans, is the Manager of the Florist Team at Neville Funerals, and here she gives just an overview of the most popular choices she anticipates over the coming months: "In terms of colours, striking purple and white arrangements are still the most popular choice for coffin sprays, and actually can be more economical than the previously popular blue floral choices.
"Red Roses, Tulips, Sunflowers, Irises and Carnations were some of our most popular flower choices last year and I think this may continue into 2024. We try to ensure that any preferred floral choice is available all year round, which means our customers aren't limited by season but it will be interesting to see if new colour preferences will emerge in the in the Spring for us to share with our customers."

On the 25th of January, the amazing Keech Hospice will be hosting a Death Cafe in Luton Central Library as they encourage people to open up and share their thoughts and feelings and experiences about loss.
We're advocates for the positive impact that open conversations around death can have and the importance of discussing the loss of loved ones, which is why we are encouraging anyone dealing with loss to pop along to the session between 11:00am - 12:30pm. You would be able to share and chat as little or as much as you feel comfortable with but certainly taking that first step of walking through the door can be huge leap.
The Death Cafe, in short, will offer a safe place for open discussions around grief, bereavement and end-of-life care.
