This wonderful project aims at reducing loneliness and isolation amongst men aged 50+ in the local community and encourages them to get together, build friendships and socialise while learning new skills or improving and maintaining existing ones.
Annual membership costs just £60 and includes all guidance needed to learn how to use the woodwork machinery, plus access to the shed’s tools, equipment, and support!
There is always someone happy to talk to you about what we do and how you can help.
Visitors are welcome – we can show you around, no need to commit, just book a visit and a chat to get a better idea!
We need your support to keep this fantastic project alive! How can you support us?

Thank you to Tessa and Lance for their very generous donation of a lathe, accessories, and various turning tools to the Men’s Shed at Age UK Herne Bay & Whitstable. Lance attended the Hazell Nevill dementia Day Centre and enjoys woodwork, and has donated the lathe so that others can benefit from it now that he is no longer able. This amazing donation will double our wood turning capacity in the shed and we are hugely grateful to Lance and Tessa 🫶💞

We are so happy that Poppy is enjoying her mud kitchen, made by our Men's Shed. Her family have done a fabulous job personalising it for her- look at all those funky, bright drawings! 🌞🌈
Here is what Poppy's parents said about her new mud kitchen made by the Shedder's!
''Thought you'd like to see how we personalised one of the mud kitchens made by the chaps in the Shed. Poppy is our ray of sunshine and so she had to have a beautiful sun included in her kitchen. She LOVES it and we all love watching her play. The artwork has been sealed with yacht varnish. Thank you Shedders''.
