Good Evening
Just to remind you to get all your paperwork for the year end 23/24 over to me by the 31st August 2024.
I am being quite strict about this for 23/24 as my January 2024 was quite awful, so much so that I was ill in February. Well, we're not having a repeat performance in 2025.
Any queries, feel free to contact me and I'll do what I can to help..
With kind regards
Anne

Dear All
Happy Easter to you all.
We have twin events next week:
The end of the 23/24 Tax Year - 05/04/24
The garden waking up!
My advice to you is to get all your paperwork for the year end in order and hand it over to me ASAP. My mission for this year is get the Tax Returns all processed in good time. No last minute rushing for me....... If you have any queries, drop me an email and I will get back to you.
I am having next week off to deal with the 2nd event - wish me luck!
I will be checking my emails regularly, if you need any help.
With kind regards
Anne
Afternoon All
Here's a tasty little morsel for you to read and digest. Issued by HMRC today. The regulations are not in yet, but this advance notice gives you plenty of time to get your digital systems up and running. Many of you already do this, but HMRC are determined to bring in the new systems. Plenty of time to get any training you may need - most training on systems is free, so take advantage where you can.
Any questions, come back to me.
Kind regards to all
Anne
So, 'tis done! The last Tax Return for 22/23 has just been successfully submitted!
I'm done in, the printer is done in, the dog is done in, and, as for the house, well that's truly done in!
As usual, not planed like this, but finished at last. Let's hope I can get into the garden asap. Not before I've had a lovely cool drink and my microwave lasagne!
Thank you to all you loyal clients who returned to Anne's Accounts again and to the brave newbies who came along too.
Onwards! (Only another couple of months and we can start doing it ALL again!)
Evening all,
That's me, signing off for Christmas. Wishing you all the very best for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
After a tough year, I am looking forward to sorting out my garden in '24. I have signed up (fairly foolishly) for an open garden in June, so a fair bit of work to keep me busy!
Not before I have finished off those few Tax Returns that remain to be completed before the January 31st deadline. Never fear, we are very near!
Always taking calls if you are concerned about anything.
Best wishes
Anne

Hi All,
Just a little bit of very useful information for you: I have been without broadband for several weeks and my busiest time is now. I remembered, that, after the closure of The Neptune Business Hub by the swimming pool in Herne Bay, 3 very enterprising and community spirited business members set up BaySpace WorkSpace in Mortimer Street. I have been hiring office space for a few days a week now for several weeks. What a great idea! The staff are friendly, the office space is clean, fast broadband, printing facilities, unlimited tea & coffee, a business meeting space, restroom facilities etc. BaySpace is situated 153A Mortimer St. (Being next to Iceland is a bonus!) a very central location. Access is via two flights of stairs, which limits some people, unfortunately, but BaySpace is working on this.
I would highly recommend BAYSPACE if you need some short term office space & facilities. Remember, working from home can be very isolating, so using a Business Hub has many benefits.
£12.50 per day. Printing: 10p per sheet. These costs are recoverable in your year end accounts.

Good Afternoon All,
Just a little reminder to all of you to hand in your 22/23 Tax Return paperwork to me by the 30th September 2023. Anything you might be unsure about, just put it in with your files and I'll go thru' it.
Also, a heads up about the exorbitant fees charged by Insurers of any kind to make alterations to your policies. Do not be afraid to go thru' to the Complaints Department or Customer Service and have a chat with them about your dissatisfaction with the service provided. You may even get a refund! Cool, calm and brief. All they want is to resolve the complaint and be able to tick the box. Good luck!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries with regards to your bookkeeping throughout the year. I now offer a service where by I can prepare your accounts on a monthly/3 monthly/6 monthly basis. This system has proven to be popular with many of my clients.
Wishing you well as we head into the Autumn and Christmas - there, I said it!

A Happy 75th Anniversary to the NHS from Anne's Accounts!
I, personally, am one who is very grateful to the efforts of the NHS over the years. Serious illness is no fun for anyone, but receiving treatment from an expert in the field is what makes all the difference, saves your life even. Improvements can always be made in any system, but, today, let's just be thankful that we have the NHS.

Evening All
That's the last of the 21/22 Tax Returns just been submitted to HMRC! Phew!
Not a good idea to leave it until the last day, but it is sometimes unavoidable.
Next year, (22/23), I will be taking in the bookwork at 3 monthly intervals. I trialed about 4 clients this year and it has proven to be much less stressful for both the clients and myself. It will also get clients used to submitting their figures on a 3 monthly basis, which is how we will be reporting to HMRC in the coming years. Let's not tackle that little gem just yet! (Making Tax Digital)
Do contact me at Anne's Accounts if I can be of help to you with your Bookkeeping/Tax Returns/Payroll/Year Ends/Property Rentals/New Start Ups or just some advice.
Always happy to help.

Hi All,
It's been a sort of garden/work/work/garden kind of day. I wanted to get in the garden, but had to work. Then my 2pm meeting client brought me some lovely plants! Very kind.
Mixing it up makes the working day go more quickly, so I can get out into the garden!
Don't forget to get your End of Year Accounts to me ASAP.
I shall be publishing my new Terms & Conditions in the next few weeks.
Call me anytime-always here to answer your questions!
Kind regards
Anne 🙂

Morning all,
I keep seeing adverts from Charities asking you donate to them in exchange for helping you write your will. I wonder if any of you have taken their offers up?
Well, we're all heading in the same direction and to have peace of mind about your personal affairs in worth a lot.
As an add on, Power of Attorney is, actually, very important. There are two sections: One for your Health and one for your Wealth, or your finances. It is really important to nominate someone you trust, so that if, in the fullness of time, you become incapacitated, for whatever reason, you know that your finances and your health care will be looked after properly and as you would wish. Don't underestimate this; I became very poorly at the age of 44, I could do nothing at all. When I was better, I immediately set up the Power of Attorney and have always felt re-assured as a result.
The next thing to is a Health Care Plan, so that your Doctors know how you would like to be treated as you age. The most difficult one, I feel, as it makes you face your mortality. I haven't quite done this yet, but it is definitely to be considered.
Going to a Solicitor can be expensive, so maybe take up one of these Charities' offers.
Just be careful to use a reputable, well known Charity and don't let anybody rush you!
Good luck!
Anne
