Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with Claire Crispin

We know that our mindset shapes every facet of our lives... our expectations have a direct impact on every experience we have. And going through the Menopause is no exception!

The hormonal changes related to
menopause produce similar symptoms in many women, however the cultural differences, beliefs and expectations can still shape how people experience this stage of life.

According to lead study author, Dr. Mary Jane Minkin, a professor in obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive health at Yale Medical School “In societies where age is more revered and the older woman is the wiser and better woman, menopausal symptoms are significantly less bothersome. Where older is not better, many women equate menopause with old age, and symptoms can be much more devastating.”

Do you know that in some countries including China, the Menopause is called the "Second Spring" and is viewed as a positive stage of life.

Perhaps the generally held view in the West, that menopause is a time to dread is actually making our menopause experiences more difficult....

CBT can help us reframe our situation, challenging and changing our beliefs, which in turn can lead to more positive experiences and outcomes.

I'm Claire Crispin and I'm an accredited CBT therapist. I offer online video and face to face CBT treatment. Get in touch and schedule a free, no obligation telephone call to see how I can help you with your current difficulties.

Hi, I'm Claire Crispin. I'm a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and a Registered Mental Health Nurse working in both private practice and for the NHS in mental health services.

I offer online video therapy to clients in the UK and all around the world (with the exception of those living in the United States and Canada). Face to face therapy sessions are also available in the town of Hertford, Hertfordshire in the UK.

Hi, my name's Claire and I'm an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and a Registered Mental Health Nurse with over 20 years experiencing in both private practice and the NHS in mental health services.

I specialise in treating a wide range of anxiety and mood disorders in adults and young people aged 18 plus. These include, but are not limited to, Depression, Social Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), General Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Low Self Esteem, Panic Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Specific Phobias and Psychosis.

I am enthusiastic about supporting people to facilitate positive change  and I use a collaborative and compassionate approach to empower people to move beyond their current difficulties and step into a life they love living.

My early career was in marketing, working for several multi-national, blue-chip organisations, where I developed a broad business acumen.  In order to maintain life-balance, I  regularly volunteered for charitable organisations including Mind and Crisis which is when, nearly 20 years ago, my passion for working with people facing mental health issues was first ignited.

Soon after, I followed my passion, returned to university, completed my nurse training and specialised in mental health.  I worked for many years as an NHS registered mental health nurse in acute inpatient psychiatric wards and in community teams followed by a period as Quality Improvement Lead for several mental health services in the local area.

Having enjoyed a career which spans the Public, Private and Independent sectors, I have gained a unique perspective and first-hand experience of individual and organisational challenges in obtaining and maintaining good mental health and effective solutions to this.

At the weekends you can find me on long dog walks and cheering on the side lines both as a football and a rugby mum watching my children play!

Please do get in touch and we can have a no obligation telephone chat, where you can ask me any questions you may have and we can see whether we think CBT with me would be a good fit for you.
