Since 2012 we have recycled all of our waste so that nothing goes to landfill. Your leftovers are anaerobically composted to produce renewable energy.

As the nights draw in and the leaves start to fall off the trees, it’s time to look ahead to dining-out inspiration with the launch of our autumn menu, which combines a mix of new dishes and the return of some house favourites, but most importantly, all our ingredients are sustainably and seasonally sourced.

Our popular mutton bombas dish has returned and we have a new Corsican slow-braised Lable Anglais free-range chicken dish, as well as tasty new vegetarian dish, North African spiced lamb style mince flatbread, served with raita, sweet and sour onions and garden herbs.

We are really excited to unveil our Christmas menu, which is now available to enjoy until 3 January and for the first time ever, the menu features Hertfordshire’s first bombas, which is originally a Catalan delicacy, that has been adapted by our head chef Nick McGeown and reinvented as a starter dish.

The Harpenden bombas is a croquette of organic mutton from Hammonds End Farm with mash potato, alioli and brava sauce.

The festive menu offers five starters, seven mains and four puds, including vegetarian and vegan options for each course. Every diner also receives a sustainable festive cracker.

Our Christmas Set Menu is available all day and costs £32 for three courses. Our Winter Set Menu is also still available throughout the festive period from 12pm-6.30pm with two courses for £18.50 and three courses for £21.50 for up to seven diners.

If you haven't dined with us recently and tasted some of our dishes from our late winter and early spring menu that is available at our restaurants until the end of April, you might be interested in some of these cracking highlights.

For starters, there is the MSC Cod cheeks in a fish broth with chilli and garlic and black treacle and fennel cured organic salmon.

Mains feature MSC Hake with puttanesca olives, anchovies and tomatoes and free-range duck leg confit with sticky red cabbage.

Puddings include poached pear with viola flowers and vegan chocolate ice cream and tart berries.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and the bookings are coming in fast.

Just a little reminder that Lussmanns does not believe in increasing prices for key calendar dates, and this includes Valentine’s Day – which is very commonly used as an excuse to hike up prices by some of our competitors!

At Lussmanns you will get the same great value for your Valentine’s Day meal as you get all year round. But don’t leave it too long to book! 😊

A little reminder that all of our restaurants have a set menu available all year round and they can offer fantastic value for money! 😃

Two courses are only £16.95 and three courses £19.95.

Options include starters such as MSC cod cheeks fish broth with chilli and garlic and oxtail croquette with aioli.

Mains include MSC smoked haddock rarebit with Cornichon and potato hash and Wyke farmhouse cheddar; free-range spiced lamb ragout; and steak frites.

Puddings include Bramley apple crumble, chocolate mousse, and sweet & bitter orange brûlée.

The set menu is available 12-7pm daily for up to six diners.

Our new selection of winter specials are now on our menus and will be available until the end of February.

For starters, the specials are: roast garlic and parsley soup with sourdough; chicory salad with Somerset ewe's curd, hazelnuts and Djon dressing; and MSC Manx kipper pâté.

For mains, there's the Barnet halloumi and grilled courgette burger brioche bun with harrissa mayo, the Corsican slow-braised free-range chicken leg olives with tomatoes and mash and the Fridays-only fish and chips which includes MSC haddock, skin-on chips and mushy peas.

And for the puds, black cherry and kirsch tiramisu and sweet and bitter orange brûlée with organic milk and cointreau.
