🏘️ Matthew Barber announces launch of Thames Valley anti-social behaviour (ASB) mediation service

The Thames Valley ASB Mediation Service is being delivered by Alternatives to Conflict (previously known as Mediation Bucks) and is available to residents across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes.

Mediation provides an independent support service and can offer a solution when there is no clear course of action open to a statutory agency, such as the police or local authority. It also represents an alternative to court proceedings and intervention by statutory agencies.

Mediation is a confidential, informal process in which a neutral third party, the mediator, will help those who are in dispute to reach agreement. Individuals can either self-refer into the mediation service or professionals can complete a referral with the individuals consent.

A day of knowledge sharing at Waddesdon Manor with the Rothschild Foundation and Bucks Data Exchange.
As our lovely invite suggested we “Met, Learnt and Ate” whilst discussing how we could better use both our own data and that of other voluntary organisations across the county.
Collaboration not competition underpinned the day.

A great day yesterday at Buckinghamshire New University further strengthening our ties. We had lots of interest for possible volunteers and were able to forge links with both the mental health team and students union. It's fabulous to be able to work with another amazing in organisation High Wycombe, just around the corner. We look forward to visiting your Aylesbury and Uxbridge campuses.

Last week, we had a fantastic event at Buckinghamshire New University. We chatted to students about our 'Room to Talk' programme and let them know about the joys and benefits of volunteering with us. It was great to see all the enthusiasm and interest!
A big thank you to everyone at BNU.

We are pleased to welcome Kayode Olatuyi to our office team here at Mediation Bucks.
He brings with him a wealth of experience and has already been volunteering with us for a couple of years. In this time he has successfully worked on a huge number of cases with fabulous results, even getting to hold aloft the much coveted best newcomer 2023 at our recent AGM.

Our annual Christmas gathering. A good evening catching up with colleagues over a carvery or two, even the odd sprout for the more adventurous among us.

Great to get to meet our new “Class of 2023” intake all together in the same room, finally.
We had a fabulous day honing our already marvellous mediator skills and sharpening our corking conflict support talents.

It was an excellent opportunity to chat, get to know each other and share experiences.

Roll on 2024 and the cases it brings,.
